It's tough to say.

People have crunched a lot of numbers and there doesn't seem to be any sort of direct correlation between a film's Rotten Tomato score and it's box office. It seems that factors such as marketing and pop culture relevance may play a larger role in how a film does at the box office than if it is labeled fresh or rotten.

Of course it doesn't hurt the marketing of your film if you can put a high Rotten Tomatoes score in your ad. It's not clear how many people check Rotten Tomatoes when picking out a movie but the site has been in so many ads over the years that people have heard of the site even if it's not on the favorites list on their browser.

Perhaps for a film like Bumblebee it might be a huge help. It's not clear if the trailers and ads got across the idea that this time is different. But the review scores say this time is different. Perhaps news of the good reviews will win back some of the people that felt like they were done with the Transformers film series.

 

Kind of off subject. Does anyone know where I can find the soundtrack? Wanted get it for my wife. We’re 80’s kids and we still use cd’s in our cars. Most stores have thinned out or stopped selling cd’s all together.

 

Well, the soundtract is available digitally at your usual places.

A CD release is planned by La La Land records, but later according to Bumblebee: Motion Picture Score by Dario Marianelli - Transformers News - TFW2005

You can find CDs at your local record shop (who are basically all independents now), or online through Amazon. If La La Land records is releasing it, then the best bet is online through them. I'm sure there will be a news item here when the CD version is available.

 

There is also a cassette floating around that was used in promotional materials but…it's blank. Just has a Spotify code to the album on the cover.
