He does look great. I don't need him, but that's a great figure and I'm happy the Soundwave fans are getting another good one.

 

Honestly I could see toyhax putting out a label set that covers the tape deck front and give it that cartoon look. Sure it's an aesthetic some may not want but it would help cover the damage.

Edit: what worries me more is the battle damage on his shins and how much alcohol will remove.

At first I disliked the alt mode, and loved the bot mode. Now I like the alt mode, but all that shattered glass really bugs me. It's way too much, I'm afraid the slightest bump would shatter it and send Ravage sprawling on the ground. Still going to get it, but I'm hoping we get a Select Series Soundblaster out of this, with no battle damage.

Ol' Bucket Head arrived today.

As much as I don't agree with Hasbro's "regress everything to G1!" mindset at the moment.....I have to admit, this makes my inner child happy.

Really loving the wave 2 stock photos. Starscream keeps looking better and better. Soundwave is going to need an alcohol bath and painting though. Sixgun looks surprisingly badass. I am surprised they have 2 Battlemasters for the wave considering how many they are supposed to have for this line. I could have sworn that they plan to release all the original Targetmasters by the end of the trilogy.

Ironhide is going to be the must have of the wave to most I bet. He looks better than even the MP to me. After I get him, I may sell my 3P stand-ins, Medical and Weapons Specialists. It's a shame their weapons aren't actually 5mm.

I gave up on waiting for my local stores to get stock in and put in orders for restocks at the big places. Amazon only had the scalper prices. I did get the Battlemasters at Hasbro Toy Shop, they show being delivered Christmas Eve.

 

I also like Pteraxadon and Aimless.

 

It's like the Prime Masters all over again...

 

Chromia just confuses me. She suffers so much by being tied down to the PotP fembot mold, which is even stranger, because she doesn't even combine, so she has all of the downsides, and none of the reasons for said downsides.

 

I personally like the concept of there being some cracked damage on his chest plate, makes him stand out from being just another G1 Soundwave toy.

That said, I do feel like maybe they went a bit over board with it. I would have preferred a simple sort of "web" shatter effect in one of the corners.
