    Such a shame.

This is why they should have just disregarded the Bay movies altogether, so many bad choices were made so they'd fit into the continuity of the past movies.

I think Travis did a damn good job trying to create something compelling while still following the mold created by the previous films. However, I believe there are just too many inconsistencies to call this part of the same timeline. I hope Paramount is smart enough to go with a reboot route going forward. The groundwork has already been laid out by Bumblebee.

On the plus side, isn't it a little refreshing for once that a Transformers movie does not include Megatron?

Still doesn't make sense. Megatron was frozen in sector 7 during bumblebee yet there was no hint of him ever being there.

If they're going with that, but he's not at S7, then he's probably still in the Antarctic. He's playing I-Spy with Ghidorah and every other alien stuck in there.

Why he's trying to connect to 2007 movie tho when everything in Bumblebee, starting from the design and plotwise are very disconnected to the 2007 one?

It was pretty dumb to have Megatron be frozen for thousands of years in the Movie 1 lore.

Really diminishes his role in the war

Megatron did very little in the Bay movies.
#1 Frozen until last 20 minutes
#2 Secondary villain to The Fallen
#3 Secondary villain to Sentinel Prime
    #4 Secondary villain to Lockdown
    #5 Secondary villain to Unicron/Quintessa

Drop the Bayverse. Bring us G1 Megatron as a big deal the way Knight wanted to. Please.

So it's still under the crappy Bay-verse and thanks to Thew's review of the movie it's revealed that Bay is still a Producer, soooooo I'm still not giving Bay or Paramount a single red cent of my money!

It's like going to a Mexican restaurant with good reviews that Trump partially owns...NOPE!

No matter the talented director and even the IP owner willing to lend the money for the movie it's the Paramount's blind insistence what makes this movie franchise unsustainable.

But it's just a matter of time for Hasbro losing their patience because sure as hell they'd like bucket-helmeted Megatron flaunting his fusion cannon if only for the sake of their brand unification and toy sales.

deleted scene? They just planned it out.

"I had this whole thing boarded where we’re where we see [Decepticon leader] Megatron and he comes in like Sauron, just blowing shit up and laying waste to everything,” Bumblebee director Travis Knight told io9."

IIRC the movie started out being more explicitly tied to the Bayverse, but by the time they released it they had cut out quite a few Bayverse references.

Originally Bumblebee accidentally used Allspark energy to bring a bunch of appliances in Charlie's house to life, and they caused havoc. They changed it too just Bee causing the havoc.

So I wouldn't say this proves that Bumblebee is in the Bayverse. Just that, by the time they had separated it more, it was too late / there wasn't enough budget to complete the Megatron scene.

Which is a shame because it sounds epic. I hope at least the storyboards get included as an extra on BluRay.

Exactly! Another confirmation from Knight himself.

That would make even less sense if that was meant to be a prequel scene. Bee wouldn’t have access to any AllSpark energy as he only had contact with it in 2007.
