G1 Reissue possibilities (2018)

 

Nice. Would it be possible to add some kind of parenthetical to the "notable missing" items when we know why they're unlikely to be reissued (owned by another company, for example)? I see you've got "for obvious reasons" on a few, but that's hardly specific, and even so, doesn't capture all of the characters with known "obvious reasons."

Anyone think the sliding arm feature might happen on this version of Astrotrain. That would be insane!

You mean the reissue?

No, I think there's no chance whatsoever. That version in the picture, there probably wasn't even a mold created of that. It's just a mock-up.

(And even if a mold was created, it's probably long-gone now)

 

I love his little T. Rex arms. He looks so goofy.

 

I would like to see menasor and superion reissued

Jetfire reissue and every dinobot

 

Both quite impossible.

Jetfire will never be reissued.

Dinobots...well they wouldn’t be cheap if they did them. The original molds have been lost for some time. Though, the Dino cassettes and Soundwave with single cassette deck were previously believed to be the same way, so who knows really.

 

I believe Grimlocks mold was the only 1 lost, I know wheeljacks broke and that is why we have and will never receive a wheeljack reissue but if Jetfire wouldn't be a far stretch because there's alot of Macross molds they could use. But unfortunately we will probably get the majority that was issued from the toys r us versions but at this point I would like a Megatron in his G1 box and I'll be good.

 

They can’t use any macross molds. Harmony gold would sue their pants off. Keep in mind this is the company that tried to sue them a few years ago just for putting boosters on a jet. Barring a straight up deal with harmony gold (super unlikely) there will never be a jetfire reissue. Same goes for Megatron thanks to US gun laws

 

I'd get the Protectobots if they reissued them.

 

I’d fight someone over a g1 Bruticus reissue with diecast chests
