Making a separate thread for this one as I asked the users there who agreed because it's a repaint and homage to a whole other combiner from a whole other series (Ruination from R.I.D.) and at least now it'll be distinguishable and searchable for people interested in this piece.

This one is a direct repaint of the originally released War Giant and all accessories are the same sans additional non-transforming Bridge Watcher (Shockwave) blaster. The article is kept pretty short and sweet because of this and here are some pics from the gallery:

 

So is this out -or is this an advanced copy?

Are the tolerances any better than the original release?

I'm so glad I postponed getting War Giant. These guys look so good as Ruination. Must by for sure

 

can you tell if there were any mold changes for the elbows or is it just a recolor.

 

Not sure which I like more... that gold looks killer. Easily the best Bruticus sculpt ever IMO...

 

I bought this with the intent of having a set to display combined (War Giant) and a set to display individually (Catastrophe) as the Baldigus/Ruination team deco has always been far more visually interesting to me. The way this thing looks as a gestalt, though? Eclipses War Giant completely. Motherfucking magnificent. Someone spent a lot of time working out these colours.

I'll say the same thing I said in another board... I have War Giant, and I want to get Catastrophe. And then I hope Iron Factory does G2 colors, Battle Gaia colors, '03 Walmart-exclusive Ruination with the arctic camo, and then if there's time the '04 Universe Ruination with the desert camo.

 

It is certainly faithful to the animation deco unlike the original toy set which wasn't but eh besides the gold combiner parts I'm not crazy about it. I think I'll wait and hope for a g2 or battle gaia version also to stand besides my original release.

So very tempted to get this. It looks beautiful (although I'm sure it won't look as stunning on my shelf as it does in @Kuma Style's pcitures), but the price is definitely a turn off.

I wasn't a fan of the Ruination deco in either the original RiD release or the CW release, but this pops.

 

Great job on these pics. You've sold me on this repaint. I'm going to get him to go with my Car Robots figures.

I love my War Giant and I am really looking forward to this version. The colors just pop so nicely and really love the gold.
