Eh... I got nothing but love for beast wars. I want to be excited about another primal figure, but this one just isn't appealing to me. Idk, the proportions just look kind of wonky. I'd really love to see a 3P company step up to the plate and do some show accurate figures, or figures with realistic beast modes. Probably won't happen but a guy can dream right.

 

You know, there's a potential goldmine 3Ps should tap: redoing the BW cast in CHUG scale, but properly sized and scaled to one another and much more show-accurate, but no, they have to make monstrosities like whatever this is.

I know MP scale is where the hot money is these days, but we're at a point where some of the older series like RID, Armada, etc would benefit from a new series with modern engineering.

Nah instead we get redundant and useless crap. We already have T-Beast, so...

 

I look at this and know exactly what it is but at the same time wonder what the heck it's supposed to be. It's hard to explain.

Yep. This. The vast majority of 3Ps are more concerned with making the same derivative remakes of characters that everyone else has made. And once they make it, they move onto copying the next flavour of the month.
There's a huge untapped market of RID, Unicron Trilogy and realistic beast mode BW characters that they could do, but nope.

I guess nobody wants to take a chance because if an idea bombs, they're all too small-time to handle the loss.
I just wish somebody had the balls to be the first.

 

I got a fresh idea, now sit down cause this is gonna blow your mind; Masterpiece Scaled Springer. boom. nobody's ever thought of it before, we should rush it into production asap.

 

Can I just throw an idea out there? What if it was styled exactly like the cartoon? And came with the missile from the ‘86 movie? Now I’m not sure about you, but that seems like instant preorders.

 

I got another killer idea; an Optimus Prime toy. masterpiece scaled. its brilliant, how come nobody's ever done it before?

 

Ooh. That’s pretty good. I actually don’t think there’s that too many Optimus Prime Masterpieces but whatever. But here’s an insane idea. Masterpiece scaled trailbreaker and hoist. Now I don’t know about you but that’s pretty original.

 

We should both open up a third party company together with all these fantastic new ideas. we'll make killer profit

So your market is narrowed down to the few people that want a more machine style primal and then narrowed down again to those that don’t have the generation toy version.

Doesn’t strike me as a smart business decision.

 

Not to mention that this figure struggles to recreate the intended source material.

 

I hope the gorilla mode doesn\'t end up looking like a Minecraft gorilla, line they other 3P Primal did...

 

I don't mind a unique aesthetic, it's the last bastion when fans are spoiled for choice, though it runs the risk of something not agreeing with people. And for this guy, the head feels buried in a bulkier than normal body. It's just throwing me.

 

nothing about this suggests that its trying to recreate the T-beasts design from that book. they share nothing in common design wise. this seems like a company trying to create a cool looking toy based off a beloved character. -its as different as comparing a Masterpiece Movie Prime to a The Last Knight prime, -completely different interpretations.
as for me personally i Love Primal so if this guy looks good painted and is fun to play with (my only two requirements for any toy really) and i can afford him at some point, ill get him.

 

I like the T-beasts art style a lot. The sideswipe looks really nice,  though weeljack imo is the best of the upcoming &existing t-beasts. Ancstrod looks good as well. I just don\'t want to be spending money on non predacon, non dinobots in r monsterbot dudes.
