As someone who works in this field I can confirm that you have no idea what you're talking about. You may as well say that wheelchair users' concerns about stairs are overstated because you've been able to walk up them just fine.

The expression is "couldn't care less", which means that it is not possible to care any less than you do, i.e. you don't care.

"Could care less" means that you do care.

    You're welcome :)

The movie is not perfect, but I enjoyed myself thoroughly. Very easily the BEST TF movie made. But I can see how TF07 was somewhat necessary (at the time).
The biggest relief is that there's no rampant racist, misogynistic, hateful ugly subtext. Although the movie has some goofy cartoon logic, it is not punishingly stupid.
I'm so glad to be able to leave a movie theater not hating TFs for once.

I used to follow John Campea's reviews back in college (as an aspiring movie reviewer myself) and he absolutely DESPISED every TF movie after TF1, so to hear him gushing with praise over Bumblebee is pretty big; I'm thrilled at the overall positive reactions this movie's getting...didn't get a chance to get to an advanced screening but I'm absolutely pumped to see this on the 21st.

Have worked in the field of accessibility for people with disabilities for 11 years, including writing reasonably extensively about simulation sickness (it's actually the opposite of motion sickness as your inner ear says you're static and your eyes say you aren't, whereas in motion sickness your inner ear says you're moving and your eyes say you aren't), including as part of both industry best practice guidelines and internal corporate best practice guidelines. Currently working for a TV broadcaster on a research project on accessibility of 3D & 360 video, including a strong focus on simulation sickness. Also have personal experience of permanent damage caused by simulation sickness.

I hope that's enough reassurance for you.

It is categorically not just a general thing that you can take your own experiences of and apply to other people. The degree to which people suffer varies greatly from person to person.

When you speak of permanent damage caused by simulation sickness, are you talking about a vr situation? Is the process whereby this damage occured understood? If you are saying this damage was caused purely by looking at imagery, there would have to be a mechanism whereby this damage occurs. Incidentally my experience with visually induced motion sensation is that it is possible in 2d Imax presentations as much as 3D. The strongest I've experienced was dome Imax, and I imagine Cinerama would have a similar effect. It was always temporary and very enjoyable!

I know some people will get on a rollercoaster and have a rough time, and I certainly don't deny that. That's unfortunate, but there are many other things in this world to enjoy instead.

Yes, but it isn't about looking at images at all. It is a cognitive issue about recieving conflicting sets of sensory information and your brain not being able to square them with other.

Brains do funny things when faced with things that don't compute... Just look at photosensitive epilepsy.

The point of the post remember was to say that it wasn't correct for you to say that it isn't much of an issue; as you said with the rollercoaster example it varies from person to person, for some it is a huge issue.

By the way when replying to someone you should always use the reply button, so it adds the quote in. That way the person you're replying to will get a notification that you've replied, as the system then knows who the reply was addressed to.

Saw it today. I haven't left a movie theatre after a seeing a Transformers movie with a huge smile on my face since 2007. The first 10 minutes made me really emotional. I am not ashamed to admit it. Seeing the Transformers the way they should look was absolutely amazing. Shockwave got a line! No parachutes to be seen!

Haylee Steinfeld was amazing. She had real heart and emotion. The Transformer fight scenes were really well put together. You could see every hit, every move. Oh and I actually haven't been a fan of Ninja Bumblebee in the past. This movie gave him the vulnerability that he should have and has had in the past. I am a fan of his now. The two main Decepticon protagonists worked really well too.

One complaint from me. At times it felt like a soft reboot. Transformers looking and sounding like they did in back in the 80's. But then at other times it clearly linked to the Bayformer movies. Bumblebee felt somehow separate from the other bots because he is now the only Autobot that doesn't look like the 80's guys.

Though it cannot replace the excitement of the first movie, I do 100% believe it to be a better movie than the original. It has none of the sometimes infantile humour of the first three films in particular. It had none of the blatant advertising that the other five movies had. It is a Transformers movie for Transformers fans.

Providing Bayformers fans go to watch this, it is a franchise saver. Pure and simple.

    100% what Partsman said.

Solid movie with strong performance by Haylee Steinfeld and Bee is so much more charismatic and cute than ever!
The focus and scope of the movie is deliberately kept tight and works all the better for it.
Visually, it's always clear who is doing what while managing to channel the 80's nostalgia throughout. Speaking of the 80's, the use of music to evoke the setting and emphasise the emotional beats of some scenes is spot on.

I left the theatre with a huge smile too. Does not disappoint.

    Just back from UK preview.

It's great. Like, really good. It's basically an ET \ Goonies \ Short Circuit \ Flight of the Navigator \ Iron Giant type adventure movie, with tons of heart. It's genuinely funny too. The action is well staged and makes good use of practical effects, the CGI is great and the soundtrack is great. Plenty of 80's nostalgia without it becoming overbearing.

Hailey Steinfeld is really good, and they did a really good job with Bumblebee himself, as a character and a movie creation. John Cena is alright too...he had some great lines, particularly about the 'Decepticon Peacekeeping Force'.

I'd possibly have dumped the stuff with the neighbor, didn't really add much or have a payoff.Which i guess was good as it wasn't cliche. This would have tightened it up and it would have been better for it.

I liked the Cybertron scenes, they worked well..some really cool G1 bits in it. I'd watch a whole film in that style.

The film left me wanting to see more of the characters, and feeling good afterwards. I need to see it again to see how it plays when i know what's coming, but overall, really enjoyed it.

Best live action TF film by far.

Better than all the Michael Bay movies imo. I was seriously bored the last three movies, and I didn’t even go watch The Last Knight.

No, there certainly are societal norms and standards that determine what is valid criticism and invalid. I am talking about film criticism, the professional field, wherein those standards exist and are set by the majority opinion (yes, opinion). You are talking about personal opinions, which, yes, anything goes in. You're free to believe the Earth is flat just as much as you can believe The Last Knight is superior in every way to Citizen Kane. But that's not what I and the person who I was replying to were talking about. We were discussing professional film criticism (i.e RT) specifically.
