It's not looking good for Bee after all. It gets surrounded with Aquaman, Poppins and Spider-verse at once in it's second week. All three receives good critical reception, strong fandom (DC, Nostalgia, Marvel) and looks like bad words from previous installment don't help either.

Also China looks so invested in Aquaman now. They seem not really interested in Bumblebee at all.

I predict Bumblebee will end it's theatrical run with total $200-300M box office (hope I'm wrong tho)

I think bee needs to make about 300 of 400M and i think it can do that, remember when Jumanji made like less in it's opening weekend but thanks to good Word of Mouth

Being from one of the East Asian countries, I can at least tell that Mary Poppins is not that much of a big deal here, at least in my region. None of my friends are up for Mary Poppins. Aquaman has already opened in most of the countries and is going strong. But Bumblebee releases on Jan 4 or even Jan 8 in some places. My prediction is that it will earn somewhere around 600-700M because of its good ratings compared to any previous movies of this franchise.

It looked like a flop to me from the first trailer. It doesn't even have anything to do with the other movies being released. A lot of people here don't understand that what TF fans might think is better, regular audiences might like even less.

    It deserves it!

Did you watch it yet? This movie appeals perfectly to "regular audiences".

    I hope so!

Not if it flops. If it doesn't flop, you are right. If it underperforms, you are wrong. We'll see!

Did I say I did? Did I say it was a flop? I said it looked like a flop to me based on what I saw in the trailers. You don't need to argue or take it personally. It's not up to either one of us. I have no effect on how the movie does and neither do you. Very soon, we will see. And it will be whatever it will be.

I think worldwide gross would below 500 million after watched this movie, cause many people expected longer robots battle instead of just showing cute and innocent Bumblebee.

I'll just say I'm glad they kept a low budget on this one.

I'll be surprised if it doesn't. Pleasantly surprised. I'd love to be wrong. I wish them well!

Aquaman and Spiderverse are out over here already so I don't see it being a problem. Bumblebee's already getting more favourable reviews than previous TF movies and the trailers and marketing seem to be deliberately selling it as more family friendly too. Other films being out at the same time aren't a 'threat ' so much as how cinemas schedule the different movies. If there are enough showings and it's on for a decent amount of time there's no reason why it won't do ok. Plus there's no reason why an audience has to choose between movies and only see one.

Just remember what the bullet points for this board will be if the movie flops:

1- People will say it flopped because it appealed to g1ners so Bay wins

2- People will say it flopped because of recent Bay movies poisoning the franchise, so G1 wins

3- Nobody will point out it flopped because it was a spin off movie with 0 A-list actors coming out on the same day as other 3 big movies.

It will have the lowest opening weekend (and I a guarantee you some people on this forum will blow a gasket and automatically call it a flop after that) since Mary Poppins will have a 5 day box office and Aquaman has higher pre-sale tickets, but it will be fairly leggy with the good reviews. Anyways, what does Aquaman's release have to do with Bumblebee's release in China? Aquaman opened last week and Bumblebee opens all the way in January 4th.
