For the book to be praised for something other then it's sexuality.

You could definitly make it work. It'd be kinda like Secret Six from DC. Sure they are supervillain mercineries and there's stuff like Deadshot and Catman both admiting they are each other's best friend, and will probably one day end up having one murder the other. But at the same time they are contrasted both against the actual heroes and the really horrifyingly evil guys. So you can definitly make an amoral merc team work.

And you can have an easy time making stories with even their most basic personality traits. Swindle alone would be such a great source of material.

I mean I can see the kinds of messes they'd get into.

It was supposed to be a simple job. The crown prince of Xarxes 3 had managed to get himself thrown into a Denovian prison. We were suppossed to be in and out in 15 decacycles. The only variable Onsluaght didn't factor for was that the prince didn't want to be rescued...

But most people who had positive things to say already tended to praise things other than that?

Another kinda-crazy idea I'd probably incorporate, repurposed and fleshed out from older ones: tying into my main human protagonist, the idea of exposure to raw Energon radiation causing diverse mutagenic effects in organic life, flora AND fauna. Not only would this potentially put humans on a more level field against Cybertronians once the little pink squishies start figuring out how to make the most of it - and provide a healthy dose of mutant/hybrid/monster action - it would create tensions between humans as well when certain interested parties, good AND bad, start taking advantage of this development by processing or synthesizing their own Energon reserves. In the longer term, though, getting past all the expected "Smallville"ishness and kaiju homaging inherent in the idea, there's a much more ominous undercurrent to all of this that I think would be fun to play with...which is say that, while the Transformers' war may not necessarily destroy the Earth, it will definitely be the end of Earth life as we know it - indeed, all organic life on our world now more and more, day by day finds itself transforming, and into what nobody knows, and that just may be a markedly more terrifying consequence of all the giant-robot-shoot-'em-ups happening just as frequently around the globe than the giant-robot-shoot-'em-ups themselves.

Now this, I'm into. I'm a sucker for "technoorganic future" ideas in Transformers, and this sounds like a cool way to do it.

Funny. I've heard this pitch before.

Now that's funny. :p  And I honestly haven't been following Botbots at all - I don't tend to go in for the 'cute' TF things; like I said, it would basically be just re-purposing and expanding what the "Smallville" TV show had done with its initial approach to Kryptonite...though I suppose in a way I might have also still had John Carpenter on the brain, too, in keeping with that whole vibe from my previous, longer post.

Speaking of, remember the horrifying animorphs Transformers line?

I'm usually not a fan of "humans on the same footing as Transformers", mostly because the minute it happens Humans always seem to put Transformers on the ropes. However, it would be interesting if transforming humans came with some kind of horrible cost (i.e. turning into a giant intestinal parasite with the ability to turn into yet an even more horrifying giant intestinal parasite) instead of the usual "free upgraydz hax!" that usually occurs thanks to Bad Writing (tm).

Now after a long period of nothing, creative people are retweeting: "With the reboot around the corner (presumably), if you were starting a TF Series, what would your main cast be? 10 bots 10 cons" meme. Does it mean that we will soon hear something about the actual speculation of the reboot?

If we have to have humans --- and you know they will add them --- then I want fricken jeagers. Give the TFs a reason to need to transform and hide among sparkless machines. I've seen the "amazed but puny humans tagging along" schtick too often. If only we could forgo Earth and human storylines altogether...

I like this. Although I don't think that child transformers would be odd if done right. For, example, they're born physically grown, but do have some child like features, such more of a rounder head and larger optics. Voice also sounds like that of a child. They're bodies maybe more rounder. They did that in Beast War 2. Lio had a son named Lio jr, who was physically an adult, but sound and act like a child. If physical childhood is going to be on Cybertron, then it shouldn't be the norm, like only a minority ( no more then two percent) went through it. However, all Cybertronians had a childhood in a mental/emotional/socio-cultural sense.

Ps. If you're wondering how can they grow? Well they are made out of living metal, so who's to that they're metal has the same limits as the ones on Earth. There's also put a spark in a new body for TFSU where the bots aren't organism. Also they don't have to mate or mate like us to have childern. They can bud. When animal buds, it buds off a mini version of itself. I know Transformers don't bud like that, but this will be a new continuity. Marriage will be invented because two are better then one. The close mating I can think of is two transformers making a new spark. The new spark will form a liquid metal around it and a protective covering too. The parent or parents will protect it for several months and raise them for a several years, if not for a few hundred years. Now they aren't humans, so just because our kids are born helpless after birth doesn't mean they're kids have to be. Maybe semi precocial.

    @Pwsyn
I think don't they don't need to go to pregancy or lay eggs. They don't need reproductive organs or gametes. The first mating where just two cell conjoining themselves together. Cell A pass on its genes to cell B. Cell B spilt into or buds off a new a new cell. No reproductive organs or gametes. They can and do bud like cells, so this shouldn't be any different.

"Robots in Disguise" tends to get discarded pretty quickly, except for in Aligned where, against all logic, they were kept a secret from most of humanity. So I'd be in support of this idea, but it comes to a different issue. We just had a continuity where humans were almost universally opposed to the Transformers regardless of faction, and the movies insist on turning humans against the Autobots, so while this sounds cool, I wouldn't want it to be a constant "Humans vs Transformers" because that's what we've been getting for a while now.

Aside from the main Generation One story line there is something I want IDW to do more with and that's mini stories dedicated to alternate universes. For example they could do a short saga for Beast Wars Uprising or Shattered Glass. The only other option, one I dont see happening, is a similar series for shows like Animated or Prime. Animated to get the fourth season brought to mainstream life. Prime just for the sake of retelling the cartoon with better planning and no animation budget.

I would be down for an official Animated season 4 comic book with Marty Isenberg and Derrick J. Wyatt at the helm.
