Just read it. Good to see Leo Convoy coming to Earth. Don't know how I feel about this Unicron bussiness, though.

Just read it, as well as the sourcebook. Together, they help paint a better picture of the events of the Beast Wars.
I enjoy Don's art, as he delivers (as usual), but the colors for this book are mediocre at best. The best scenes are: the opening on Cybertron, Ravage and Razorbeast's confrontation, and the final page. Everything else is unbearably flat, and the color schemes rarely even match up with Josh's from The Gathering! Some panels are just downright embarrassing, but thanks for Don's lineart, it's not all bad.

Okay, complaints of the colors aside, I love how Razorbeast has adopted something of a Spiderman/Peter Parker persona, i.e. he's a wise-cracking jackass, and me like :)
Between this and the sourcebooks, it really makes me wish that there were some Spotlights on the Beast Warriors (hint hint, IDW?)

It's be very interesting to see how (and if) Apache, B'Boom, Drillbit and Drillnuts *snicker* ever come face-to-face.

    Drillnuts is an unfortunate name.

And I am loving it. Has their ever been a period where Don's art sucked?

The coloring could have been better, I have the feeling it was rushed.

    Well, Josh didn't color it.

So yeah, it isn't as good. It really shows.

It's some form of energy that boosts one's power considerably.

It's also the life force of Unicron, or something like that, which was scattered through space and time on his death.

Very good so far-- better than the first BW book, and it looks to get even better. I do find it very odd that they're bring in Apache as part of the back when B'Boom was in more than a few panels in "The Gathering". Talk about confusing...

Oh, and I LOVED it that Longrack's pre-BW form was Cybertron Longrack. Very nice fan nod, there.

I felt this issue was much like Devastation #1 in that not much really happened but it really set up quite a few different plot lines for the rest of the arc. Took me a little bit to figure out who presenting the Angolmois to Shockaract at the end. Nice touch to the Cybertronian modes there.

Unicron was to be expected, since he was featured in Neo and Neo along with BW2 is now part of this continuity. I wonder if we're going to be getting any Neo/BW2 stories to fill the gaps and to bridge what is show cannon that is being used and what is new that's being added to make the stories work.

I ask cause as I mentioned in the Sorcebook thread, it's hinted in the show that the Pax Cybertronia was signed after the Autobots defeated the Decepticons. The Autobots either retired or downsized becoming Maximals. Ravage's amnesty deal also comes to mind. So if most of the BW2 and Neo bots decided to go back to vehicle forms, we now will have to have them all return to beast forms to fit with the new stories. That seems a little redundent to me.

I mentioned in the other thread that they weren't expecting to receive a distress call from Razorbeast on pre-historic Earth. With BW2/Neo over and they're back on Cybertron why would they need their beast modes? Makes sense that they'd go back to Cybertonian forms. Then when they got this distress call, they'd need to adopt their beast modes again.

Break's Cybertronian mode would be two tons of awesomeness. You got that right. Robot mode to two tons of awesomeness and back.

My main beef with the book is that they advertise the first BW TPB, but its out of print except for the crappy manga. I call that false advertising.

So you're ignoring my points in two threads to make you're point. Fine, let me expand on mine so we can hopefully get past this. The first BW mini-series made absolutely no reference to any BW2/Neo story points other than to include a few characters in for the fans and to give DON the chance show off his mad skills at what if alt modes. (not that that is a bad thing as we love DON's awesome what if Alt modes.) But, now with the profile book, we have a lot of new history being hinted at that forces this whole Beast vs Vehicle mode into the forefront.

Yeah, I agree with your point that they wouldn't want to keep their beastmodes when they returned to Cybertron as it's not an environment that is all that friendly to Biologicals. So my question isn't why they switched back to vehicle modes after their wars, it's why did they have Beast modes in the first place. In Beast Wars, they needed them to survive in an Energon rich environment. So why did Leo Prime and his crew go wild? Why did Big Convoy or Magmatron and their crews do the same? This is my question, along with the seemingly revised timeframe in which the events of the Pax Cybertronia was made.

The analogis energy did the same thing to neo/2 crew as the energon did to the original beastwars crew. I think.
