Wow, this film is tonally so different from the previous films and I absolutely loved it. Now, this is what I would call the perfect Transformers movie. It established the Autobots and Decepticons equally. It not heavily on the Autobot side like the '07 film. The Decepticons is this film actually feel like they have individual motives. Dropkick just wants to kill people while Shatter is actually trying to get through the main mission. I love that. Previous films, no matter how different the Cons looked, were more like drones than anything.

Also, Shockwave had an actual voice—the G1 one too! Hilariously, I was too busy nerding out to comprehend what he was saying. Did anyone remember his line?

I dug how Bumblebee had to earn his kills in this film. He had to put up with quite a beating to actually defeat his opponents. Dropkick was my favorite death in that it was almost comedic in a way. "These chains can't do anything to me" *Bee kills him with the chains*

The parallels between Charlie and Bee were nice. Charlie fixed Bee and Bee fixed Charlie at the end. That was really cute.

Overall, this is the best Transformers film thus far—even better than the '07 film. Travis, please don't tease us like this. You need to come back for another one.

 

I saw the credits and while I didn't watch every bit of scrolling text SUPER closely, I didn't see any such references no.

 

Ugh, I keep asking questions. Not my fault they didn't schedule a screening anywhere remotely near me.

Anyway, who talks on Cybertron besides (I assume) Prime and Bee, and who voices them?

Ech. I wish they reissued G1 Bee with the original mouth plate head. I always hated the Encore head.

Damn! I cannot wait to see the film on 20th Dec! Did they look full on G1 or are there still some Bayverse elements? Most importantly does Ironhide still have his cannons? I hope the other 2 or 3 are Jazz, Sideswipe and Drift.

 

So Ratchet is the first Cybertronian we see talk then Brawn then Arcee then Wheeljack Optimus Arrives on the scene taking out 10 cons then Bee the the decepticons arrive Shockwave and Soundwave both talk.Then on the moon Cliffjumper talks

 

Bee wraps him up mid transformation and yanks, shredding him from the inside out....quite an ironic death considering his propensity to “pop” humans.

 

He has a few ques to the WFC design. After the credits, they showed a brief cgi render of Ironhide but i never got a good look because it was only up for 3 seconds but their g1 looks are definitely modernized.

My hunch is that they are making some wiggle room to make it a reboot. One thing that baffles me was Hoover Dam setup. I won't repeat since others have mentioned it. But like I said, I think Hasbro and friends are probably keep their options open for the possibility of calling this a reboot or a soft reboot or just a prequel.
