Thanks guys. I probably shouldn’t have posted anything, but I just needed to get it off my chest.
And I’m not gonna really try for a refund, it was only about $10, so I’m not too worried about it.

Seen it. Better than TF1. Definitely a reboot. Comedy was great had sad scenes. It will get a VERY good score on rotten tomatoes.

I am so sorry to hear that, that is so unfortunate. One of the most stressful things you can go throug. I totally just want to buy you a ticket for the opening weekend to make you feel better and rekindle your excitement for the film - it was good!

So it was a good movie. But I can see where they started out making one movie and ended up making a different movie. Hard not to notice how Blitzwing beats up Bumblebee and then just kinda... disappears.

Woohoo! So they changed that part... People who went to the early screening back in...april (I think?) said that blitz got shot down by sector 7...glad that at least he's not dead by the hands of humans.

That's not what happened in our showing.
Blitzwing pops up some forearm missiles, BB grabs one, sticks in it Blitzwing's own chest, then get away and shoots it. The missile explodes, blowing Blitzwing to bits.
How'd someone miss that, it's a fairly big scene.

    So, exactly
what the trailer showed, but people still complained and said we were wrong.

    'Kay. Thanks for the confirmation!

Oh, my gosh. I'm so sorry. I've been there, believe me. It's terrifying when it happens and then it all sinks in and you're like "Wait. WHAT?!" It'll get better, though, I promise. I've been on the receiving end and I've caused one (I hydroplaned into the rear of the car in front of me) and you'll find that we're resilient creatures. I'm sorry it happened, but it will get better. :)

    It was really very good!!
Mild spoilers (3% detail, 97% opinion):
I'm into it! I'll happily recommend it to other fans/casual moviegoers (unlike the previous iterations which I would absorb as guilty curiosities and then try to distance myself from).

I thought the tone was sweet but not saccharine. The human drama was affirmational, the actors charming. I loved that the Charlie character calls her own shots/and lays out her own boundaries (to her family, to her friend/budding romantic interest).
It's a far cry from the overt sexual objectification that was par for the course in the Bay films.

I'm really refreshed by the style of the film. I could eagerly dip in again with another installment from Knight, but would also love to see Hasbro / Paramount continue to pass the baton so we don't get stuck with one vision too long. Bay seemed at least enthusiastic when making the 2007 flick--I think with each subsequent installment he was just jadedly punching the buttons to spit out another cash generating machine. I'd hate to see Travis burn out on this franchise, as he's really give the fans a treat for this ride!

I'd secretly hoped this would deviate more specifically from the franchise as it stands--setting up a firm reboot--but as it stands currently we can have it both ways.

We do see a little teaser at the end that implies some action must be resolved before we can seamlessly integrate into the 2007 episode. Hopefully that writers room provided the future filmmaker(s) some scaffolding to build on and this positive change isn't a one trick pony.

Yeah, I forgot that happened until I read it in the other thread. I'm bad with recalling details, especially if the scene immediately changes to something else I need to pay attention to. Big scene, though? I don't know if I'd call it a big scene.

The movie could be either a soft reboot or a prequel depending on how they want to write the in-between parts. There are no hard contradictions, such as if
Megatron showed up when he's supposed to be trapped under the Hoover Dam
-- they can easily explain that various other things happen between the end of this movie and the start o the 2007 movie to set things up as they appear there. A lot can happen in 30 years, even by Cybertronian standards. They also give a lot of nods to the 2007 movie, making it clear that even if they decide to make it a "soft" reboot, the major elements of that will still stand. i.e.
Young Agent Simmons showing up, and Bee taking his Camaro form at the very end

I was able to get a ticket with my Cinemark Movie Club membership, so "free" / $8.99 for me. Given the free toy, it was a bargain! :)

Myself and a few fellow Transformers fans were disappointed that the theater didn't show the behind the scenes stuff at the end. We caused a bit of a fuss with management, who had no clue what we were talking about, and ultimately managed to get free tickets. Guess what I'll be using it on ;)
Oh no! So sorry to hear. Glad you're okay!

Strange that they didn't show it and didn't know about it. Did they also not show the "introduction" bit with John Cena before the film where he alerts everyone to stay after the credits for a behind the scenes feature?
