Just saw these tonight at my local Walmart in Peoria, IL. $2.97 for the single blind packs.

 

What part of the store were they in? I looked all over mine last night and couldnt find any.

 

Those big red bins are usually in the front of the store near the middle of the checkout area. Impulse stocking stuffer buying while you wait in line.

Most of the Walmarts here in SE Ohio have them now top. They're part of the Christmas planogram, so keep checking.

 

Was it just the single packs or do they have the 5 and 8 packs as well?

 

I saw those red bins at my Walmart but no BotBots in any of them though.

 

They are right in the garden center of mine next to toys.

 

Gross. Blind bags. Is there a code list?

 

If it helps there are numbers on the back of the packages in the bottom right corner next to the Hasbro logo. They appear to be “handwritten” or more of a hand pressed into the cardboard. The three I got are:

1. Stinkosaurus Rex - Toilet Troop
7. Skillz Punk - Techie Team
18. Dimlit - Lost Bots

 

For $3, you can keep them. The packaging card costs more than the tiny toy. I like the BotBots, but the insistence on blind bags and the outrageous price turns me off completely. Things like this used to be in gumball machines for $.50. Pickup up three of these will run you $10, an absolute waste of money.

At least for a $3 toy at McDonald's you get a hamburger, fries, yogurt, and a drink to go with it. Do you really think these things cost more than the Wreck-it-Ralph racers McDonald's is putting in Happy Meals right now?

 

I think 3 bucks is all right since I'm used to imported blind box stuff being sold for 10 dollars each in places like Barnes and Noble. Makes me a little hesitant to start collecting that kitty rock-band line that way.

At what price point would you buy them?

 

Yes.

 

I dont know if it costs more but frankly its irrelevant. For a Transformer fan these are way cooler and offer more playability than a random Happy Meal toy and I dont really see the point in comparing the two.

 

Wether or not the plastic used in a single botbot is more or less expensive than in a McDonald’s happy meal toy, I don’t know. But I’m sure that a botbot took much more time to design.

Regardless, I don’t mind the price. Honestly, I thought they would cost more.
