I do wish people would move on from the extremes when discussing the price of this tho.

If you are using BBTS for your TT figures... well, you can't be complaining about prices.. so I wish the $450 number would just go away. That's only for people buying domestic for TT figures..
The 30% off 35k number is a limited time offer and is not reflective of what the price will be on average. It too is an extreme, but simply in the other direction.

I've not tracked the MP prices closely lately.. but isn't more like 15-20% discount a more typical price once items come off pre-sale, and more like what most vendors charge?

I used to always chase the A-E presale.. but let's home Amazon shows it's cards early! Amazon.jp is the best experience by far.. when they want to let you play (for those of us who don't need to care about VAT or duties)

 

The fact that people seem to genuinely think that Takara is including and entire extra figure in this box and not promoting or advertising that fact in any way so that the price is justified just highlights how absurd the price really is.

 

The prices seem to be closer to the actual MSRP (or higher) after the initial preorder discounts go through

 

Let also add onto this that trailer. It’s coated in paint. And it has more functionality than the previous trailers. That’s easily the bulk of the cost.

And are we all really forgetting the shit show with tariffs that is affecting prices of many products even ones that are “lesser” in demand? And don’t kid yourself suggesting that tariffs aren’t affecting price when it’s a global economy and this is manufactured in China.

What gets me the most with these absurd complaints about the cost is that plenty of you have bought expensive 3rd party figures and not batted an eye but this is somehow ridiculous.

Nearly everyone complaining about this toys price are the same people who gladly bought mpm-05 & 6 for $80-140, how ironic.

 

Is it? How much have people dropped on various 3P MP figures without a second thought. People also conveniently forget manufacturing prices keep going up. That’s why Hasbro went to Vietnam.

Certainty not anywhere near $450 on a single figure that is the size of prime. Let's look at FT pheonix for a moment..a high quality toy made form top notch materials and is significantly larger than prime and he was no where near $450. Hell, he was no where near $300. Listen I am not arguing with you that 3p stuff costs some coin, but to equate somebody spending $400+ on a set of the TW constructions and spending the same money on ONE figure is not an accurate comparison. That is my point.

 

I see your point. Phoenix isn’t a fully painted figure however. Has one accessory. The same can be said of Constructor. That plastic isn’t super durable and minimal paint on the figures. Let’s also add in what has been mentioned before. 3P doesn’t have to do the R&D like Hasbro or Takara which is going to be longer because of safety standards.

And I’ll site that trailer again as the bulk of plastic driving this up. It’s a large chunk and it’s all painted. Easily the most paint with any MP release to date. And not to mention more moving parts on all of it. Figure and trailer.

 

Pretty sure the clear piece is the part that connects Prime to his "flight stand".

By the way, are we for sure if this does or doesn't include Carly?

And can someone digibash the damaged parts into Prime? I'm just not seeing where the damaged chest piece fits.
