That'd be so awesome. Damn you for planting an idea in my head that will probably never come to fruition :(  :p

Well, it was more likely Hasbro dropping the line so quickly that brought about MT not making any more sets. Even the Takara "United EX" ones, nice as they were, weren't received well enough to release all of the PCC figures in Japan (the F1 race car and the ambulance / emergency truck molds didn't get a release there, I assume they would have been another vs. two-pack if they had).

(Probably not helped by the bizarre pricing on the EX versions).

I think these sets and TFC's iron army showed there was a lot of untapped potential in the line. The minicon type figures were great and the interaction of the line was pretty neat, but I think it was hampered by the lack of robot modes for the limbs (and, to a lesser extent, the awkward way the auto-transform gimmick made the limbs work).

Anyways, some stores still have them in stock, MT's exclusive shop included if you want to order direct. I don't know that I'd pay $100 for one, or even $90, but ymmv.

Anyone ever find any translation of this guy's instructions? His backstory, as presented by Maketoys, has piqued my curiosity.

So, I am about 5 years too late, but I finally got Chaos Paladin today. He is a marvel of engineering, but not in the usual TF sense: he is more akin to a LEGO constraction figure, in that he is made of "chunks" that can combine in numerous ways. He also shows what could have been accomplished with the PCC connector system, had Hasbro decided to utilize it beyond that line.

His articulation is a bit limited by today's standards, but he is still pretty well articulated. The ONLY negatives I have are the limited head movement due to the huge block on the back of the head, and the plain orange sword (should have been translucent orange with painted solid orange bits, to simulate fire). I am surprised Reprolabels/Toyhax never released a set for him, since they love those "glowy" labels and they would have been perfect to go over orange paint.

He is well worth what I paid for him (around $60 + shipping for a MIB one here on Junkion Exchange), but I wouldn't pay much more than that due to his limitations.

Hey man! I was late to the Chaos Paladin party too (got him early this year) and I agree with everything you said. I, like you, am very surprised no Reprolabals set was ever made for him. And yeah, translucent swords would be fantastic. The hollowed-out gun barrels/turret halves also kinda disappoint me, but not a dealbreaker.

Overall, I adore this figure -- definitely my favorite toy rendition of The Fallen!

I still love mine. He does seem a bit small, though, next to SND Nova Prime, unfortunately. Obviously, it wouldn't make sense for him to be much bigger with the PCC compatibility, and it's hard to fault a company for their figure looking small next to one made 5 years later . . .

Congrats to you both for coming to the party. Better late than never! :thumb

I customed a Dr. Wu red Skybreaker sword (painted clear yellow over the blade and black over the handle and guard. Also cut the guard so that he could hold the blade the other way) to give him a clear orange blade.

I think he is still a fantastic piece and goes well with Hypernova.

Here are some old pics I took a few years ago so you can see them together and the clear blade.
