Fanstoys Grinder and Gigapower Grassor. I think they are great together. P_20180803_210158_LL.jpg

I have these paired up, but in Dino mode. In robot mode, Grassor is a good head taller than Grinder, and it just looks off.

Grinder is filling until Giga drops their Grimlock. Then, pfft, out the door he goes.

I just started masterpiece collecting this year, and I went with the Gigapower Dinos. I always felt the Dinobots should be massive, so the scale appealed to me. I just got my first two in hand (chrome Slag and Sludge) this past week and I am super happy with them. Preordered Swoop and Snarl this morning

Hopefully the metallic Swoop won't take too long to get released after the chrome one....

Now that some time has gone by how is the chrome holding up? Any issues with it?

I’ve heard FT has better Dino modes and GP has better Bot mode.

I only have Guttur and man I love it!

    Subjective.

Objectively speaking, both companies make what are arguably the best representations of G1 Dinobots yet seen. Gigapower's offerings are larger and slightly more detailed, and more toy accurate, but that's pretty much where the aesthetic differences end (not including Fanstoys' color variants).

A collector wins with either set.

I too have Guttur and Grassor, Gaudenter is shipping to me as you read this, and I preordered their Grimlock's throne. Only missing Grim and their Gravitor and I can watch the sun set on a grateful universe LMAO

I personally prefer Gigapower's Dinos, as I'm more of a fan of the larger size.

Subjective. Gigapower's dino modes look much better to me. Fanstoys has the more cartoon accurate bot modes.

However the dinobots are the one group where from a cartoon standpoint, the alt modes were more prominent.

Definitely subjective, as already said twice before me. Typically what I hear though is FT is more toon accurate and Giga is more toy but in the end, it ends up leading to a size debate, as far as how tall the Dinobots should've been portrayed or remembered vs how they are shown in the toon.

The three biggest wins for me with Giga is price, can choose chrome or not, and the fact I feel like all 5 are a cohesive team by design. I have no idea what FT was thinking by changing the shade of gold on each, going some odd direction with Scoria and then remaking it as Cesium, and after taking my head out of the sand, the cost. If Cesium can sell at $135 US retail and was a very good figure at that, IMO, imagine what the others could've been bought for?

Needless to say, I don't miss any of the 6 FT's Dibots, which included both Scoria and Cesium in that six and happily awaiting for Giga's metallic Swoop, Grimlock, and I hope a reissue of Slag.

I was super hyped when scoria was first announced. I desperately wanted 3rd party dinobots in scale ever since mp-08 (which i loved, but it was too small) was proven to be undersized with the line's relaunch.

Even with that, i still sold scoria within a week. It didn't do it for me. I was so disappointed (mainly by the dino mode and the height) that I made the choice that I'd rather have no dinobots than a stand in I wasn't happy with. Gigapower came out of no where with metallic guttur and I bought it and never looked back. The dino modes on gigapower's are exactly what I wanted. The bot modes hit that toy nostalgia and towering height.

Yes, fanstoys has long since completed the dinobot team, whereas we're still awaiting Grimlock (and metallic gaudenter, for those who went metallic like me). But I don't regret my choice at all.

I own both sets and have to say both ft and giga made the best dinobots on the market. If I had to choose one set over the other, I would pick Gigapower. The size, the paint, the extras, just pushes giga to the top. I hope Gigapower produces the Predacons next.

My chrome grassor and guttur both look like new :thumb . I think it’s been 3 years for guttur.
