Wow it looks fantastic, not sure if it justifies the price but I'm sure when I get it I won't have buyers remorse. I feel bad for those that can't or won't buy it and hopefully there will be a cheaper NA release or a helping hand from a "nice" Chinese company can help you out.

I wasn't sure after just seeing the grey prototypes, but this picture right here sealed the deal. This is the Prime who I grew up with and is in my heart and head. MP-10 was great but it was always a bit off looking for me and the two new 3rd party figures (which I'm getting BTW) have their own little idiosyncrasies which makes them look a little off. But this to me looks perfect.

This is the money shot, boys, just look at him, he looks so majestic. He absolutely destroys all the third party options available if Sunbow G1 Optimus Prime is what you're after. But the red bits on the ankles are a bit of an eyesore, otherwise flawless figure in every way except the alt-mode and the price.

I was about to say get on your knees and put a fucking ring on that finger, but you already have, well done.

Hell, as for me, even as a TF fan I'm stuck in limbo on this figure. Before I saw the coloured images and saw the price I had serious doubts about getting this figure then the beautiful coloured pics erased any doubts. Then this morning I go check on a local retailer in the UK who says this thing might be in the £330 - £375 range.....and now I'm back in limbo again?

    :lol

I think I know why I don't like the look of his alt-mode. The gap between the back of the cab and the trailer is too much even when compared to the animated captions thus giving him an elongated look. I prefer the alt-modes of the other Primes quite frankly but this trumps them in everything else.

He looks great from the front. But you start getting into backpack territory and ehhh.

I still like MP 10 more but if he gets a Hasbro release for $200 I’ll get it.

Despite misgivings with the price I think the figure looks wonderful.

It actually cheers me to see people be really enthusiastic about buying it, it shows the fandom is actually healthy.

I guess I am on the fence - it may be too hard to ignore when the time comes.

I would like a an MP rumble and frenzy that scales well with spike and Sparkpula.

I love that Sparkplug has a shoulder joint.

The logic here is that the backpack isnt work 3-4 hundred, but is easier to justify buying at $100. DONT THINK TOO HARD NOW, YA HEAR!

I like the new design, but I don't *love* it. Malware5's comparison pics are really good - TT isn't going for an overall G1 look; they are literally going for the Marvel design templates. And that's the issue for me these days. That design isn't exactly what we would get in an episode, much of the time. I think I want an Optimus that looks more like this:
A little "bigger", "bulkier", "stronger" maybe. I think that's why MP10 - despite a couple of pesky issues I have with it - matches up more to my ultimate G1 look. But I totally understand why many of the fans here are looking forward to MP44. That's the nice thing, we can all have what we individually want and be happy.

    Thanks for that reminder!

    Bugger.
I'll expect upwards of £400 then... bit much to be fair - I'm struggling to justify £94 for Cordon at the moment.

That said. I didnt and still dont really see the need for a new Optimus, especially as I dont like the toon aesthetic all that much - i prefer the toy aesthetic by a metric ton. Hence why I don't have a Megatron yet. Can't justify that to be honest... but the plus deco has persuaded me at last to get him.
I'm LOVING the accessories 44's got though - i wouldn't thought I'd be so easily swayed! Here's hoping 44 plus will be just as amazing. I hope that he also has the accessories - im glad its not coming out till august at least, as will (maybe) be able to catch up with a few I've missed.

Does anyone know the purpose of the panels on the front of Prime\'s trailer?

I don\'t see the hype on this and especially for $450 or whatever it might be, this is not worth it!

I still have my TRU MP Prime with trailer from a few years back and still mint and sealed and it will do just fine for years to come.

Sorry to say that once was a fun toys to collect and play with is now a hobby, but for $450 is just crazy and now I would consider this MP as a high end plastic addiction for the rich or ones with a disposble income.  Go ahead, buy it, but when you can\'t pay for it don\'t come begging saying that I wish I didn\'t spend that amount of money or seeking your parents for help.

Personally I don't mind fake parts but ultimately it is cheating in a fashion and it gets away from the whole point of the transforming toy, I have always loved how a robot was inherently compromised/optimised because of the alt mode it was forced to come from. With the modern engineering we can make BW MP dinobot have a more toon accurate chest but i'll be damned if that takes away some of the inherent fun of actually having the beast head integral to the chest.

Question: What was the first TF with a fake piece??

Looks great - better than the previous ones. But it's too rich for my blood, and I agree with others that the increasing number of fake/faux parts is a big turn-off. I also dislike paying for accessories - unless there's some clever economic argument as to how it actually makes the whole thing cheaper, I'd rather they released a basic version with just a gun and trailer.

I don't mean losing money to KO's, I mean losing money from people simply not buying it. Then, perhaps, TT will understand that (IMO), the market does not want these types of products. They want high quality, affordable figures. TT only has to look at the quality of some KO MPs and copy that.

First one that comes to mind is Powermaster Prime. Which this is really just a really really really overly complicated version of. At the core, it's the same. Fake chest on the inside, truck front on the back.

I cant deny this looks.... perfect... yes, it really does, the overall proportions, the paint, the choice of colors, the headsculpt, the use of the trailer accessories, the accessories, wow...

Oh course, i will never be able to own this, even if it was 300$ (instead of 450$), but i can sure appreciate and enjoy the pics / videos.

You mean the one square centimeter area that you can only see when using ankle tilts? Gee, how dare the designers who are basically working magic already have one small flaw.
First one that comes to my mind is PMOP.

G1 Prime had the same slot in the same area, so it’s probably for sticking the turret through when you stand it up, although why you would use that format is beyond me when you can just open it up.

Except this figure uses the same windows in both modes. Sure, the grill is fake but that has been the case on all MP Optimuses so far.

So, he's gone from Primal to Beast Megatron.
The jump in price is similar too...it seems like T-rexes are more expensives than gorillas these days.
