    Really, that's your take?

My thought was "how the hell does this sucker transform that part of his cab ends up in his ankle?" (my first guess is that it's probably from the steps behind the front wheel).

My second thought was how that partially ajar hatch on the trailer is really tweaking me on an OCD level.

Takara did a great job capturing that cartoon look.
I'm impressed that they made it work, he looks like he's a non-transformable figure, but he can still turn into a good looking truck.
Is it flawless? No, but I'm still impressed with what they did. It will compliment MP-36 really well.
Aside from better articulation, I don't feel like he's that much better than MP-10, though. There's only so much you can change and improve.
The way I look at things is that MP-44 is just different in style for people who want a more cartoony take on the character while still retaining a fairly real world looking vehicle mode. Since I can't afford him, I won't be getting him, but I still appreciate him for what he is and I'm happy for people who will be getting him.
I'm content with my MP-10 leading my MP Autobots. If the price of MP-44 goes down in the future due to rereleases, reissues or whatever, sure, I'll get him too.
I feel there's room for both in people's collections. I still have my 20th anniversary MP-01, so why not?

It looks okay, not great. I personally feel
MS-01 captures Primes aesthetic a lot better.

But far more than that, I am genuinely concerned that I wont be able to afford to put this next to “the inevitable MP Galvatron and MP Rodimus V2”.
If this is 50,000 yen and is 10k more than the previous figure (BW Megs), which was 5k more than the one before that (BW Dino) which was 5k more than the one before THAT (G1 Megs)... how much is Galvatron going to be with all his random movie and Season 3 is extras? And how much for Rodimus who also has a trailer and will also come with a pile of random movie and season 3 bits?
60,000? 65,000? Where’s the line in the sand?
Haven’t seen many folks addressing that concern. They’re all “you can just save up for it” or “it’s optimus” or “its only $10 a week”. But what happens when the next one is $15 a week? $20 a week?

Two moulds, multiple releases. Like I said I'm not convinced they'll releases it but I live in hope.

This looks great, absolutely stunning, but it sucks so bad that Im never going to get one because of how expensive it is. Also, you think that starscream Head could fit into MP-11?

I don't know. When Rodimus 2.0 is 60,000 yen I'll probably just pay the 60,000 yen cause I really want him. The line in the sand isn't a tangible thing....I'll just know. If a toy looks good and I really want it, I'll buy it. If it looks really good and I want it, but it costs $2000, then I won't buy it.

I imagine if there are still any completionists out there, they might be feeling a bit stressed right now. But I've been a much happier collector ever since I learned to stop buying shit I don't want or need out of "obligation."

I'm passing on this but I'll for sure buy a similarly priced Rodimus and Galvatron cause I really want those. If they released a new Ultra Magnus or Seeker v3 I'll pass for sure.

Buy what you like, buy what you want, and stop buying shit you don't REALLY REALLY want!!

Interesting idea. The thing that confuses me is we’ve seen copies of solicitations from these retailers listing a bunch of products and their prices. We’ve also seen BBTS pull their listing down, and folks have indicated it was because they jumped the gun on official release dates. Also seen companies indicating they were seeking clarification on price. That seems contrary to the idea that they’re sourcing from a middleman and Takara is completely out of the loop. I honestly don’t know at this point. Maybe they source from Hasbro Asia instead of Takara but it’s seems likely that someone is calling the shots and outranks them. Otherwise we’d see a lot more differences in prices and more of a lasseiz faire attitude.

As a member and unofficial acting president of the unofficial ko "F hastak" KO Community, I welcome all newcomers. More demand from you will only help continue the golden ages of TF KOs.

MP - 44 price reveal has surely lightened our not so darkest hour and has eliminated the threat of less KO demand once and for all. Thanks Prime - KO MAGNUS

I think the figure looks Amazing! Love the colours, the stance that head sculpt just everything to me looks perfect (yes has a bit of a backpack but I don't display my collection side one/back facing).

However is it £225 better than MP10 (paid £125 for MP10 basing this off being £350) no, its just not.

I've been thinking this for a while now but if I want to keep buying G1 official and 3rd party combiners then other parts of my line will have to go and my other hobbies will have to stop as well.

So its bye bye to the beast wars MP's and my Star Wars Lego will be off to the big online auction house in cyberspace...

I think Takara/Hasbro may also harm the sales of other figures mainly BW Megatron with this price. I can see many people doing the same as me cancelling that and keeping the funds for MP44 instead.

At this price, I would be so afraid of flipping this figure back and forth I can see people double dipping as they did on MP Megs (one official display and another KO to flip around).

Also, an August release for us UK side is bad as its TF Nation month then so this would have a serious impact on what we spend in the dealer room.

Despite not being into toon accuracy there is quite a lot here I like in colour, but it also has some significant issues as well (urgh, those elbows for starters). There is no way its worth the asking price though, MP10 is in no danger thats for sure.

I think it looks good and is overpriced. What an original take :D

Seriously though, I'm not sure how we got here. TF MP is one of the longest running toylines of all time now. You have to imagine it's been successful doing what it's been doing, the odd shelf warmer notwithstanding.

Did a stack of Japanese fans fill in the questionnaires begging for more accessories? I joked with a friend he ought to come with MP Jazz in there for this price! I don't really think anyone is asking for this much crap in the box driving up the price.

I might sound pissed off but i'm not really, they can do what they want and all that, we can all choose not to buy it or whatever. But what gets me is... How can they think this will go over well? Treat the longterm fans with some respect ffs. Release 2 versions right from the start, one with just his gun and a matrix, make it compatible with MP10's trailer and THEN you can laugh all the way to the bank, you bastards!

I just take solace knowing there'll be countless other times to get this figure for the next 5 years, and hopefully in the bare bones configuration i want it in
