Guys Sam made this thread to largely move away from the complaint-fest that the merged thread in the news forum became. If you want to express disappointment and complain, it's better to do so in that thread than here.

Now that there isn’t a basketball court coming with Prime, I’m going to have to make one and source a ball. 1:6 is too big and 1:12 is too small. Maybe 1:8 is just right. Did I just do a Goldilocks? I’m gonna have him posterize Tracks for sure. I’m curious to see how Carly shapes up.

That needs to go in the news thread. The complainers like to give it but I bet they can't take it.

Also, looking at the pictures of Prime and the battle damaged piece that slots in on the left side, I haven’t seen and right side photos of him. I wonder if there is a slot on the right side. I know it’s a left side piece intended for the left side but I’m curious.

MORE PICTURES TT AND PRONTO! I WANT MY MONEYS WORTH!

I was skeptical about a new Prime last year, but now seeing it in colour: I can only say: I must have it. I am glad that Sam created this thread, because I can’t get enough of admiring MP44. Takara really knows how to perform some impressive engineering magic.

Takes me back to the mp10 announcement when every fucker was happy with mp01 and no-one wanted or needed mp10. Takara were idiots and the line was doomed to fail.

Oh the cyclical life of an mp fan.

Gee that Magic Square looks remarkably similar to MP-44. And at a fraction of the price. I bet it sells very well.

Still have to say MP-10 is the best overall looking Prime. It's a pity the articulation is a bit limited compared to MP-44 but in terms of what I would want to display on my shelf, it takes the cake.

Still the accessories that come with MP-44 are a nice touch. Especially the Starscream parts. I never thought TT would do that.

Excellent! He really does look beautiful in all gray.

To be fair, he was mostly hating on the 3rd party figure. He merely stated that he preferred that figure's proportions.

    Preface..

I will say this here because I was being negative in the news thread. Perhaps I was riding the wave like everyone else and cracking jokes along the way. My comment of G1 fans jumping ship so TT could do more BW was just a joke. A few days ago that thread was a shit storm.. too much to read and I am not following it anymore. And lastly.. I do believe that most of us have the ability to save and plan for this if it is something that our collections cannot live without.

Now that we see prime in color..

I have to say WOW. I mean just WOW. They nailed it on every level. I love TT's recent focus of nailing the cartoon aesthetic. We've seen it with all of the BW characters and now we see it here with Prime (really every G1 mp since Tracks right?). The colored photos of the toy look spectacular which makes it kind of a shame that the price was leaked before the colored photos and accessories were revealed. I feel that if it had gone the other way perhaps the fan reaction would have been different. Some of my favorite things about this version of prime: thin Autobot logo on his shoulder, the articulation / poses this toy can pull off, the proportions (short arms, long skinny legs, more human looking chest), the paint choices, the chrome (glad they went with chrome for the stacks and side bits in the end - white would have looked cheap there). It really is a good looking prime and I am happy for those that are excited for it.

I already gave Ironhide and Sideswipe the toon insignia, but not gonna lie I was a little worried when I saw the price of Prime, because if he didn't come with one I was gonna be modding a 50000 Yen figure! SO GLAD they went with that toon outline logo, it just wouldn't look right without it.

I'm hoping we get better res shots (and more shots) soon, because I really want to see the S1 head in higher definition!

Great spot! With the missiles being able to retract, I wonder if the entire top of the turret can also be removed to recreate this look:

We certainly seem to be pretty close to it!

This pic shows the windows are the same size in truck and bot mode. Makes me wonder if by some voodoo magic that they are not false, but we actually see a different side of them in each mode. The engineering on this thing looks incredible which is the number one reason I still play with TFs to begin with. I'm not sure MP-36's engineering can ever be topped (simply because of his impossible alt mode), but this guy is going to have some major wow moments during transformation like Sunstreaker has.

The windows are basically the same height, but definitely wider in alt-mode, as there's extra glass on the part the comes beween them.

I really wonder if the rocketpack is compatible with MP-12. No one at Comic Con asked someone to try it on MP-12?!?

Would be interesting to mitigate Hasui lovers who also hate the backpack on the new Prime. "Yeah, it needed to be that big so that the jetpack could be compatible with MP-12 and Prime, blame Hasui" :lol
