You budget money for either important stuff or something that's worth it. This plastic pos is not worth a penny over 120 bucks. And that's pushing it.

Like I said before, I'll buy it for cheap when its ko'd and improved along with it megs.

Shame it doesn't sell it megs without accessories. Only accessories needed are multiple faces, something prime doesn't even need because of his mouthcap.

Still no Japanese preorders makes me feel like all the U.S. ones are jumping the gun.

I'm still buying it too. IT'S OPTIMUS PRIME OF COURSE WE'RE GOING TO BUY IT. But in doing so we're saying "Yeah, Takara Tommy, it's ok for you to charge over $400 for a masterpiece figure." It's a very dirty trick they're pulling in my opinion.

So personally I think its a ripoff. With the cost of making things today, I can get a pretty decent mid grade smart phone or Laptop for that price.
    450 for that?
When for a 100 bucks I can get this and I think it looks better, its cleaner, doesnt have that mess at the back. Jeez. People really have money to burn

This is flawed logic. It took years to get good MP-10 KOs not because it took them so many tries at MP-10, but because the companies as a whole were not producing at that standard. They are now, and will continue to do so. So it won't take 'years' to get the quality back.. it is already there and not leaving.

But the KO companies arne't stupid... they don't need to sell this figure at $60.. They'll price it high as well to protect their other products and simply be 'enough' cheaper than TT to get people to buy.

Then you have made your mind up. And so have we. Please understand we are all going to think differently about this and let us leave it at that

Agree to disagree. I don't feel like arguing with anyone, no matter who they are or what they said, and especially over a figure/toy/Optimus Prime from TT. If you feel this isn't worth it, then please leave this forum and let us be with those that do actually have something worthy to contribute to this conversation

I like 44 personally . Not sure why I have to justify anything to anyone on these boards lol. What I think is funny are all the folks who are bashing others for buying him. Haters gonna hate though !

Japanese preorders shouldn't start until 12/17.

Wouldn't V1 magnus be MP-2, and V2 MP-22? Still, that is something I am alright without unless they give him a plaque stating he can't deal with it right now

New seekers will be 250-300. The flight stands alone will jack up the price big time. That's my prediction on that.

Serious question for those buying this:
If you know that Takara is inflating prices just because they can, and you know they'll keep doing so because they're convinced collectors will still buy, and you agree the inflated pricing is ridiculous.....then why are you still buying MP44?

I get that it's Optimus, but there are multiple versions of MP Optimus already.

I just feel that by buying an MP who is so blatantly overpriced just enables Takara to keep pulling this same underhandedness.

Honestly, I'm just genuinely wondering why some have decided to still buy MP44.

You answered your own question. Because it's Optimus.

Economy at work. I'm absolutely sure that this MP is going to be produced in smaller quantities but they toymakers want to keep, or even expand, their profit margin.

In the end anyone's going to get a version of their MP Prime one way or another, be it the original, the KO, the 3P one or a second hand older version. That's not counting everyone who's already perfectly happy with what they have on their shelf.

I think that Takara's aware that the market for a yet another MP OP isn't that big anymore.

Let's just see whether or not the actual figure is worth the price tag and judge the figure on reviewers handling the physical product and not just from looking at prototype stills and color edits. This figure looks to be on the parts count and engineering level of MP-36. If the figure is not selling, stores and Takara will have to change their price accordingly. It is not as if Takara is physically incapitable in changing the price of their figures. Look at all the third party figures that did not sell well. What happened to them? The prices went down.
