Ok everyone, I’m just gonna come right out and say it. I will be getting V3 when he rolls out. I hear you @TCracker about not buying two copies but my plan all along was to buy one copy of V3 and keep MP-10 in truck mode. I am still excited to see what this version of Prime can accomplish.

Since we're talking about MP-44 I'll just add my two cents.

I think the figure looks neat, but I love my MP-10s and I'm quite happy with them (regular, Nemesis and SG). The only other color of an MP Prime I'd want is in Diaclone Blue - maaaaaybe Ultra Magnus white.

I could never justify ¥50,000 for a figure, and I don't see this really bringing, uh, 4x the value in the same size package. So I'm hoping if Takara ever does either of those two repaints it's using the less expensive MP-10 mold. Otherwise, well, that'd be a permanent collection gap I guess. :(

I'm also hoping that aside from new Megatron and new Prime the line continues doing new characters. I'm looking forward to Hound!

Not sure about the original intent of the post, but in the IDW comics he's a scheming schemer who schemes, and he's super, super cynical, so sometimes his schemes cause problems.

Also there was that time he was mind controlled by one of Bombshell's bullets and ended up a Decepticon secret agent and also became a part of Devastator.

...the comics sound a bit weird if you haven't read them, but I thought his character is presented in a (IMO) far more interesting way than the generic "loyal second-in-command" single dimension he's usually had previously.

The way I see it for me, and this is just me, I buy enough junk through out the year like pizzas, sodas, chips and some 3P purchases I’ve come to regret which could be allocated towards MP-44. I can slow down on all of that for a few months to get something I’m only going to pay for once. Besides, I’m getting older and should cut out that stuff anyway so MP-44 is my low-key diet specialist.

Ok so it's agreed, as of this week we're all.doing the MP-44 diet.

Oh and I'm going to be getting this. I do feel for those getting priced out of the hobby and hope that this trend changes because whilst this is not a huge expense to me right now the wheel of Fortune turns! Last year I was out of work for 6 months living in one of the most expensive states. Last year me would not be considering this either!

How I wish Takara can just give us MP Arcee. This stand in just don't cut it and Legends version is too god damn small.

I'm old enough now that if they stick to the pattern of every 8 years a new G1 Prime, this most likely will be my last Prime anyway. To be honest with all the stops they are pulling out, this looks like the last G1 Prime they plan on making for a while , unless some new material is found or magic really becomes a thing.

I recently bought the other Hot Rod with the Target master and now wish I bought the one you just photographed @TCracker . Mainly for the nifty additional stuff. But I do love the figure and transformation more than I thought.

If budget permits, MP28 is a looker. He will fit nicely if your MP collection. Either way, you cant go wrong :thumb

Oh how I wish a few other MP's had this level of articulation...

RK price is US$370 for MP-44. So Asian retailers will have a much lower price. Will be interesting to see what the Japanese retailers like Amiami list it. I'll wait to see the Amiami price before deciding where to preorder.

He’ll be 35000 Yen from Anime Export. Does AmiAmi also do 30% discount? He’ll be a little more from HLJ, their discount is in the 20s usually.

I wish I had the money ready to get one from AE when it comes up (I like paying it off right away), but at €270 that’s unlikely.

Agreed - the transformation is still a nightmare for me but it’s such a fun figure.

MP 29+ is looking stunning, thanks @TCracker and @unicron nemesis for those pictures :thumb  They should've released the figure in these colours in the first place, instead of that lighter shade.

But I agree with @Booster Gold that I really wish he had a little bit more height and especially bulk. Shockwave was pretty bulky in the cartoon in almost all of his appearances, plus on the holy scale chart where they show his animation model. Thick, angular legs and feet, a wide and protruding torso. I miss that in the MP.

EDIT: plus I can't justify the price increase for the exact same mould.
