Wrong SEE MARVEL MOVIES...... Also? It seems to be that Hasbro's more G1 looking figures and lines have been outselling their competition lines of the movies/animated for some time now. Look at all the positive response the current CHUG lines of the last 1.5 years have received vs that garbage. Heck Look at the Voyager DOTM Cab Prime that was retooled in Japan to look more G1 WITH A FACEMASK that Hasbro won't allow over here that people love. Change in design is one thing and welcome to a certain degree, however keeping SOME similarity with the original designs is what keeps the characters relevant for new AND old fans. Bay's excuse for changing the designs was unacceptable if you have ever actually read them. His reasons made no sense. THESE Designs show G1 influence with a more "realistic" take and would have been MUCH MORE accepted in 2007 than the designs that we got. They look bad ass and fresh with enough G1 color and design influence to recognize who they are VS 2007 Ironhide or Ratchet......... or for god's sake HOT ROD or Wheeljack.....

While we're at it i thought i might bring up another series that has had innovation while at the same time adhering to older designs that is about the same age as Transformers.... Gundam.... That series has seen plenty of design and thematical changes over the years while still keeping enough of itself to make you go: "oh thats a gundam" when you see one without making the formula stale.....

Travis designs will only occupy the screen for a short period of time; the movie will still feature Bayverse designs with Dropkick, Shatter, and Blitzwing for the majority of the film.

This movie looks good, and I hope it's good. I like the G1 / Bayformers Hybride designs here, it looks good.

But Transformers is a series were each new version looks to the past, to pave way for the future. I love the focus of Hasbro's G1 Reunification across all Transformers Toys and Media right now, but there is a reason behind this brand reunification. The Toy market has shrunk, Jobs lost; So there is a heavy focus on proven concepts.

Of course BotBots throws a wrench into Transformers just Like Beast Wars, so we still have creativity.

Yeah but you do realise it is something new right? Not every design is 100% G1, just like IDW they pay respects to certain characters but add new things. Look at Bee, he is like 80% Bayverse, and shatter and Dropkick are full on bayverse designs and so is Blitz who has some of that bayverse flair, and thsee 4 characters are the majority of the film. The cybertron scene will be like what 10-20 minutes? Like I told someone else on here we have been stuck with the live action bayformers for 10 YEARS, it's time to pass the torch and let a new generation take the view. It pleases G1 fans and little kids that have never seen transformers will grow to know these G1 designs more, like me who would show my 2 nephews the G1 cartoon, they love G1 the most and will be happy to see characters they rocongnize. Quit being a butthurt bayfan, bayformers let us ALL down many times and some of us G1 fans were really bayformer fans too, well now that the tables turned it's not fun being on the otherside? No hard feelings just stating a point, and hey this movie could fail bad and we are all out of luck lol.

 

Nope I'm taking about Liveaction, if this was the cartoon then yes but we and the public at large have been stuck with bayformers for 10 years, it's time for G1 to get a shot at Liveaction.

 

Not on the big screen. Don’t poopoo on people because they are happy that we are getting something that’s respectful to the source material for once. This is what most fans expected them to look like from jump. Or close.

The seeker on Cybertron always had a mouth (as does Blitzwing sans mask), but it's not just the colour scheme that's changed, the face / helmet designs have been altered as well..

But we've had G1 for 34. I get trying to keep the franchise alive, but we also don't want it to stagnate.

 

But it's not like you had like 1000 episodes..we only had 5 movies,it's a live-action movie franchise and it paid homage to some G1 stuff,plus the average joe doesn't even think they were "stuck"..to them this is it.I respect G1 but I'm glad they didn't do like a full movie of it.Every generation must evolve..I wouldn't be too happy if someone tried to make Bayformers "after Bayformers" except some easter eggs here and there..but in general do something different.It's only G1 when it's G1 and this is not that..this series was based on everthing and still did it's own thing even Animated had a part.

The head design is actually more accurate now

 

Loving the level of detail on Prime.. not digging those skinny jeans though.. Seriously every TF looks like they were designed by a different studio.
