Some collectors are rich, so they willing to get those nuts aftermarket prices as maybe they felt that as long as they own the toy, I envy these collectors buying power

The other side of that coin are collectors who pay those crazy prices instead of fixing the car...paying rent/mortgage...saving for retirement...etc. It ain't always greener on the other side of the fence.

A third option is people with very focused collections. When I stopped buying most of every TF line, it freed up alot of money to chase stuff like SOC Voltron.

I'm doing a 100% paint job with my super minipla Voltron.
Finally finished the first lion, only 4 to go.

I created an account just to say that, Pinko McFly, your paint app on the Voltron model looks amazing. (Now I think I need to buy a 2nd one so that I can do the same!)

But the main reason I created my account (long time lurker, since back on like page 200) is to ask if anyone has any news or updates on the Icarus Voltron? Like many, I've pre-ordered mine from LCM and Lau and I have talked a bit, but mostly just to say that it's delayed again and again. I've refunded PayPal twice now, per Lau's advice, but I'm really just wondering if anyone knows any updates? I used to hear things like, "It's coming out in July", then I heard "It's coming out in October", but now the well has gone dry. Now there isn't any news at all. Anyone?

Glad you joined! I wish I had some info on what you're after...I have yet to fall down the MP Voltron hole, though, and am not very familiar with that set. I'm sure somebody here can shed some light on it.

I don't really collect figures anymore, but I will never sell my SoC GoLion. If I'm ever homeless, I will lug it around with me if I have to. Still gives me goosebumps just gazing at it. After a long delay from Japan, I finally got the MiniPla. Still need to find time to put it together. I'll read through this thread for any tips, dos and don'ts.

GoldenLagoon, you won't be sorry that you purchased the MiniPla. Of all the Voltron figures I've played with, it is by far the most articulate. You can pose that thing in literally ANY pose you can imagine. And due to the light weight, it has no problem standing on its own. I've heard that it's very similar to the SOC Voltron, but I cannot comment on that since I don't currently have the $1000 it would take to buy one. I CAN however say, that the MiniPla is so good that I plan to buy a couple more of them. One to paint and have displayed as separate Lions next to the combined Votron, and one to keep at work on my desk to play with. LOL.

    BEST SAMPLE 2.jpg

I'm having another giant acrylic glass poster size Voltron made to hang up on the wall. Trying out new ideas.

The character side art is by Josh Burns and is not mine. Credit to him please.

Good grief. That picture of Princess Allura is stunning. I wonder who the face is based on.

My guess is it isn't Icarus Toy's priority right now or something came up with another run (Factory used is backed up). Maybe they wanted the SOC release popularity calm down so they will be more popular I still see the Pre-order up on LCM's site and they changed it a month or so ago from "October / November" to waiting for release confirmation from Icarus. If it was cancelled, I'm guessing LCM would remove it from their site instead of accepting pre-orders. I'm going to be patient with mine another quarter.

I keep thinking about getting that... Did you order him or find him somewhere locally?
