Thanos Has a Real Dinosaur Named After Him

2014 that Sérgio Luis Simonatto and his team had discovered evidence of a newly uncovered species. Earlier this year, the remains were confirmed to belong to a brachyrostran abelisaurid. The leading theories suggest it came from the late Cretaceous Period, in what is now Brazil. It's also believed that the dinosaur was not necessarily the apex predator of its habitat, but still a dangerous carnivore.

While naming the new species, scientists decided upon Thanos Simonattoi, after Marvel's Mad Titan, Thanos.

Nice.

 

Now this does put a smile on my face.

Well, I finally see how Thanos: Titan Consumed is non-canon.

It changes the manner in which Thanos discoverers Gamora. It’s various minor changes, but noticeably different from the scene in the movie.

The novel also provides very good insight into to how MCU Thanos thinks.

He’s not necessarily sadistic, just very callous. And over the course of his life he has grown more and more so.

 

Actually here’s a more probable explanation as to why the book was made non-canon.

If the MCU enables a Secret Wars adaptation, they're in. But for that to happen, the X-Men and the Fantastic Four have to all be existing in the MCU.

 

The X-Men and F4 are the least of their concerns. They managed just fine without them in Civil War. The problem with Secret Wars is A) alternate universes and time travel don't sell with general audiences and B) they don't have nearly the volume of characters necessary to action-figure mash together.

Secret Wars is a bad idea, which seems about par for the course for the Russos at this point.

Just like Civil War, the film wouldn't be and exact copy of the comics so they could make it work.

 

I think they mean the 1984 Secret Wars, where the Beyonder created Battle World for the heroes to battle the villains to see which side was stronger.

Honestly, the longer I have to wait for a trailer the more it’s killing my hype. They have been teasing the title and trailer once a week for a few months now. The world isn’t going to implode if you just give it to is.
