Actually, in G1 cartoon Bumblebee was half the size of Optimus if not smaller. Oh, please. As if we already don't know how it's going to end
I get the impression that is this is successful they will quietly sweep the bayverse \"continuity\" under the rug. Not that it followed it\'s own damn continuity anyway
So basically from this trailer, Paramount are disregarding all of the Bayformer movies except 2007? Weird decision, but okey I'll accept this. Because 07 are still the best live-action Transformers movie.
Good god, if THESE were the kinds of designs we were being teased with over ten years ago, I would have pee'd my pants in anticipation. I mean, wow, they even gave Prime his little yellow arrow shit on his arms. Love the attention to G1 detail mixed with expected updates.
So seeing how they purposely rewrote Bumblebee's arrival to Earth to the 80's than instead of what the test screening included, this supports the theory they're looking to soft reboot with this film. And man, that Optimus Prime is gorgeous. I love the complexity but the obvious callbacks to the G1 design.
Bumblebee arriving in the 80s completely throws the middle finger to the continuity that AoE and TLK tried to set up. CHRISTMAS HAS COME EARLY FOR ME THIS YEAR! Also the trailer is fucking gorgeous. I would love if they just used this as a solid platform for a reboot wholesale and stuck to the more G1 designs - I'm willing to overlook more Bayformer styled guys like Shatter and Dropkick if it means more traditional looking Transformers in the long run.
I’m staring to feel/hope that the Cybertron footage isn’t a flashback or a quick 10/second story time but an actual lead into the movie with dialogue and action sequences. Like DOTM but with a lot more depth.
This is what the movie needed to give it any hope of not bombing. The core of the bumblebee movie looks forgettable. It does at least look cohesive and understandable which is a step forward. It still seems to suffer from not understanding it is a transformers movie though.
I’ve seen enough of the trailers to know that this movie will miss the man this was a transformer movie and it was awesome feeling. I have no interest in transformers learning from humans. I have no interest in the main character being mute. The best part of this movie will be the cybertron scenes.
What are you talking about? Anthony Anderson bragging about he ate a whole plate of donuts is the quintessential corner stone of the movies.
Looking at the Optimus design now it doesn't look that much cartoonish as I originally thought it was but I still wish it wasn't so slavish to the G1 design.
And do not forget Abdul's teeth in RotF. Well, and after Twins, parents and other annoying one shot characters for nothing, the biggest miserableness was Ken Jeong. Wonder if you kick off all this human trash scenes and save money, how much scenes with robots should be made instead of.
But I thought they all had some sort of language translation implant, on GOTG, the mugshot stablished peter had an implant on him, they all probably get one at some point and what we see on the screen is an implicit translation of it...
