And I opened it. It's beautiful. I'll try transforming it tomorrow after it's had plenty of time to warm up.

We talked about it a couple pages ago. There’s a step missing from the instructions. (See below) If that doesn’t get you all the way there, you can either trim/clean flashing out of the peg hole in the dashboard of the cockpit or sand the peg itself down a little bit.

 

I believe that's the intent. However, I leave it flipped out for bot mode, as well. I find that these small heel spurs function as real heel spurs, and they help to stabilize Cyclonus as he's standing up.

Got around to transforming him tonight. Very tight tolerances, but it was manageable thanks to YouTube. And I managed to do it without scuffing the chest (tabbed it last).

 

Well, I transformed him to alt and back.

It's pretty fiddly, but so long as some of those joints loosen up a bit with subsequent transformations as others have described, it certainly won't be the hardest transformation ever. The chest does have some scratches around the bottom after transforming. On the plus side, they're not really noticeable unless you're looking for them.

Fortunately, Quietus isn't striking me as an un-play-with-able statue like Sovereign did. I was pleasantly surprised at how light the package felt when I first picked it up. Yes, pleasantly surprised. I never got into this whole heft thing. Sovereign and Quietus are both well-built, wonderful-looking robots with fiddly transformations, but Sovereign's heaviness makes it not fun to even pose, IMO. Luckily, Quietus didn't go overboard in that department.

I am enjoying Quietus despite the transformation and paint issues. I've got the figure all loaded with its weapons right now, and it looks pretty badass. I was wondering if Quietus would be the figure that drove me back to CHUG (hey, some of those WFC Siege figures look pretty good for main-line Hasbro TFs), but that did not turn out to be the case.

They are still producing the second batch of Quietus. All those "Hail Hydra"s will have to wait.

 

So the trick to avoid scuffing the chest is to tab in the knees first, chest last?

When you transform him (if you already plan to), try putting some soft plastic or cloth between the knees and the chest. I scuffed him on the first transformation slightly, but since then I have been putting a folded up plastic bag in there and it at the very least hasn't gotten worse.

 

Stopped collecting but I must say Quietus looks amazing. Few images across the web has stopped me in my tracks to admire the design.Looks very premium.

I had a similar thought when taking it due to Breakdown and Wildrider being the other figures currently displayed on my desk's little CD tower part.

 

So far I have sent email, seller has said they will contact FansToys, just sent them a FB message but only crickets.

Looks good! I would say, though, I think as a leader he needs the goatee face. Makes him look older and more distinguised (and more like a classic villain).
