No better intro than a good title - what do you want to see? I love the WFC/FOC games but let’s be completely honest here, they have a lot of problems. The lack of a cover system makes combat finicky ordeal, there’s a lack of any real variety in weapons, the AI seems to jump difficulty randomly no matter what setting you’re on, the stories are less character driven affairs and more “go here, do this, kill everyone along the way”... they are far from perfect. Let me clarify, I love these games - at worst they’re very fun third person shooters, and still the best TF games on the market. But if someone new gets the license and Hasbro gives them creative control, what would you want to see? Me personally? Well...

    1. A strong emotional story - to be fair Transformers games are one of those things that don’t really NEED a Telltale-esque story, the appeal of being giant shapeshifting robots is fun enough. But hey, IDW showed you could do it, and they’ve raised the bar so high that it’s the duty of other TF media to at least reach it. Give us a game that really dives into the characters while also allowing for excellent and fun gameplay - this will make the bigger emotional moments have even more pay off. I wanna see a game that truly views Autobots and Decepticons as human, not just action movie line spouters.

    2. Better Weapon System - guys, let’s just admit it - the weapons in FOC were kinda lame. They did their job, sure, but there was no kind of power behind any of them (except the Nucleon Charge Rifle) and it felt at times they were just checking off the “requisite weapons” list - the AR, the shotgun, the SMG... all they’re missing is a pistol (which they actually had in FOC). None of them leave any impact. When you fire them it doesn’t feel like you’re firing a big enemy gun, it feels like just pulling a trigger. I’d like to see them change that up and overhaul the weapons in the newest game.

    3. HUMANS - ...Before you come for my throat... the biggest thing with WFC/FOC, and even the movie tie in games, was that the Transformers themselves... don’t really feel that big :/

Maybe this is my bias of already wanting humans in TF media so that the transformers have someone to play off of, but I think a level or two or even three where you play as humans and see the transformers from that perspective could be an EXCELLENT opportunity - cool story moment, would give a sense of scale to the TFs, and it could be an aside mission that would still be fun (think the Mary Jane missions in the new Spider-Man game but if they played more like Gears or Call of Duty)

This list is all off the top of my head, I’ll probably think of more later, but for now, what would interest you in a TF game?

My dream Transformers game would be a MMORPG. More specifically a Diablo-like MMORPG where you get to play as your favorite Transformers from across all Universes (the original 80's series, Beast era, Unicron Trilogy, Animated, etc.) and fight to save Earth from the threat of Unicron (I know he has been used way too much and many fans wouldn't find that appealing, but consider that the Decepticons/Predacons would be playable and simply going up against Megatron wouldn't work... you know because that player next to you in the hub could potentially be Megatron... so... not really threatening).

Weapons and powers up could be Mini-cons and various blasters and Energon would obviously be the currency. Developers could add new events monthly and keep players interested. And uh... yeah. This needs to be a thing. I'd create it all myself, but I'm not a bajillionaire...

I want a game that has as much time and care put into it as something like Spider-Man. No set release. Let the developers work on it as long as necessary to put out a game with the insane graphics that most games have these days.

I want a terrific and emotional story.

I'm partial to the Bayverse movies, so I'd honestly like a game based off of that universe, but not directly connected.

Good hand to hand combat, not just press one button to melee.

I think it'd be fun to have a level here and there when you're a human soldier on the battlefield, trying to take down Decepticons alongside the Autobots.

Edit- Lol I only read your bullet points at first. Now I see we have the same ideas for a human level and we both mentioned Spider-Man :lol

An open world action adventure. You will play as 10 autobots and decepticons.
The game will allow you to make your own transformer. A Tank, Car, Jet, or Truck. As you progress through the game you'll unlock more such as a gun, animal, or things like a hovercraft.
You will run through an open world with missions that involve several things. The world will have interactive elements such as destructible buildings and more.
It will contain beat'em ups and third person shooter elements.
You will also control Trypticon and Metroplex.

Something like Halo: Reach. Where you can somewhat create a player character that plays alongside other established characters like Prime and the crew. While WfC/FoC and Devastation had a number of characters you could play as- which is key because there's too many cool characters to NOT play as them- I also like the concept of being able to not have to play AS them- rather interacting with them so you can see their characters portrayed as characters and not player choice.

Areas large enough for you to transform not as just a gimmick, or a way to get from points A to B faster, but both. Make an alternate mode mean something. Let's say you HAVE a created character. You gotta choose either a land-based alt mode or an aerial one. Can't do both, right? (though maybe power-ups may exist to fix the gap), but maybe there are alternate routes or hidden vantage points to take advantage up, so you have multiple ways to complete an objective. Which leads to...

Maps that convey size. Areas like earth cities where humans skitter about running from chaos, and buildings are destructible, but you still feel Cybertronian-sized. WfC/FoC had scaled areas to whom you played as. the Armada game had scant areas where you felt the scale of your character compared to the human world around them. Gimme that mass! An open-world would be awesome as well. Something like Destiny, where you have a world with expansive areas but instanced missions so you can drop in to them when and where you want.

Co-op campaign! The surest way to get me to pay attention to a game. Let me buddy up with friends like WfC did so we can wreck and/or rule together. Got that vantage point referenced in the earlier point? Now you can hit the enemy low while a homie hits them high! Beautiful!

Co-Alignment campaign! Let's face it... Autobots are cool and so are Decepticons. And the games which let you dip toes in both are best. Everyone gets what they want. Let the stories overlap and interweave... or don't! Maybe they are just two unrelated campaigns that are 6-7 missions long each as opposed to one campaign as autoboots which is just 10 missions. Or even 12-14. I'd prefer the options.

The story? Gonna be honest, I could give a shit. If it's good, great. If not? I'm still running around as a giant robot blowing stuff up as a tank or a chopper or what have you. And I'm doing it with friends! That's enough for someone as simple as myself to have a jolly enough time.

I’m a huge Platinum fanboy, so basically I want Devastation with a better story, better world to explore, and more characters.

Basically Devastation with an actual budget

A lot of playable characters, and a reason to replay the game multiple times.

I want an rpg. Where I could start as someone like Hot Rod or maybe someone equally cool, but created just for this, travel the world, learn about mysteries, put together a party on the way and in the end defeat UNICRON or something. I always preferred the mysteries of ancient cybertron to just doomsday device of the week episodes. And that lends best to be an rpg. Or maybe action adventure.

I'm not being serious, but somebody could make an Armada based game that basically plays like Pokémon, but with Mini-Cons.

In all seriousness though, a good story, and a good combat system are what I want.

Kind of what Forged to Fight is but for the Play Station & Xbox systems.

A side scrolling fighting game in the style of Dragon Ball Fighterz, Street Fighter, and or Mortal Kombat/Injustice. A good roster of characters from across Generation 1 including some of the new characters like Drift & Windblade. I think it'd be neat to have a fun time travel or time displacement story involving Vector Prime. And the DLC could bring in characters from Beast Wars, Armada, or even more G1 characters originally left out.

Take Devastation, expand the campaign to be longer and have more locales, and give it Call of the Future's character selection.

One idea that I like but would probably never come to fruition, is a Fall Out style type of game (I'm not too video game savvy so I don't know the different names for the genres), but set it just before the war starts, or as the war is beginning, and basically just be about trying to survive during the war. You can design your own character; while also being able to play as classic characters. You could be able to play as the Autobots or Decepticons, and you can fight in battles, or roam around your factions territory. It'd be a hard game to make, but if it did it could be pretty cool.

Expanding on this idea, I think it would be neat to implement an almost GTA style system where you can or have to switch your alt modes by scanning different vehicles for different mission types, or whatever is suited to the type of style you play. You could also upgrade and customize your character along the way (both bot and alt mode) with different parts or mods.

Perhaps your character, based on your actions as the game progresses, ends up on one faction or the other (or playing both sides).

I have a concept in my head which is almost this noir detective story type game.

As much as I enjoy the straight up guns-blazing style of WfC/FoC, it’s not really the type of game I’d play if it wasn’t actually a Transformers game. I think it would be neat to approach it from a different angle, not far from what you and I suggested.

Though I get the impression from the TF fandom that they’d rather play as classic characters rather than make their own.

I'd want an online co-op experience with create-a-bots balanced with two full singleplayer story modes featuring a few bots for each faction available to play. For example Prime, Prowl and Bumblebee for the Autobot Campaign and then Megatron, Soundwave and Starscream for the Decepticons.

You'd never get that kind of project though, no budget for it and not enough mass appeal. I fear we are limited to asian exclusive shooters and freemium mobile garbage for the foreseeable future.

I would love a game to be a blend of WFC/FOC and Gears of War. In Gears of War you can take cover and hide behind objects and shoot over them and around corners, you can slide into these covers too and I feel it'd be a good system to use.

As for a story I'd like to see it set on Earth where buildings and surroundings can be used to battle, destroy and as cover. The campaign could be set solely with the Autobots and then a great online competitive game could be worked on. Gears has a very wide and much played online service. Some people I know have never even played a campaign.
