See I want all of this. And it makes me so annoyed that MPM VW Bee got treated like a hasbro figure design wise. A hasbro figure has concept art designs and faux parts. That’s not what takara is. If we just waited till the movie released and the 3D models were finalised by that point. Or even if the film was finished so they could understand the design. We could give takara the chance to make a true masterpiece.
And I don’t hate the concept design by itself. I just hate what it probably represented. A cash grab bumblebee movie. Of live action bumblebay. Cosplaying as G1 bee for appeal. But when the first teaser dropped. And we saw him. I fell in love with this bee. And the prospect of a masterpiece was all too exciting. I was just imagining him on my shelf standing proud and cute next to anyone else that seemed right to me. So I hope unique toys makes a proper version.

 

Agreed. I've actually begun to actively dislike the SS and MPM for this figure. Not due to any specific screen accuracy expectations, but mostly because they are un-fun fiddly messes with 90% of the vehicle mode on his back.
And I do understand that there will be some backpacks, but the amount of engineering and thought that went into both VW-Bees is as you say, very Hasbro'ish and not what we expect from Takara (or masterpiece) at all.

 

And after the brilliance that has been MP-36 and MP-39 it just doesn’t fit.

 

Yeah. Sunstreaker is great. (honestly, I haven't played with Nu-MP Meg. I spent money on the original MP and then again on Appolyon (both of which make me hate transformers), I'm done with Gun Megs).

 

And it seems we finally know where this animation was going to be used.
