I am also disappointed that Slide learned NOTHING. She was given an out without a very necessary verbal dressing down of how selfish she was being.

What? She realized full well how wrong she was. She said it out loud, that Optimus wasn't what she thought and she was wrong. People didn't need to give her a dressing down because it was right in front of her so she gave up on the selfish course that Slide could've taken and lent a hand... well, foot.

    I assume that
    a) it'll be revealed in Op#25
    b) related to that, I'm guessing "Optima" or something along those lines.

    Optimus always dies.

    It's like, his gimmick.

THERE IS AN ENTIRE WIKI PAGE DEDICATED TO IT.

it's not even the first time he's died killing a Unicron.

No, but the Talisman starts disintegrating everything in Infraspace only after Optimus gets his boost and it's mentioned earlier that the Talisman is part of the connection between Stardrive, Optimus, Shockwave, Soundwave, and the Enigma as well. So I definitely don't think it just started working again because of the Enigma alone.

Well, I will quote Coffee here:
    Her redemption lacked penance, IMHO.

I felt the same sort of spectacle I felt watching Infinity War this April. Man, what an ending.

And you may feel it lacked penance, but that still isn't very factual. Starting in non-spoiler turf, Slide didn't kill anyone, Gimlet did (on a mission that Slide launched (to rescue Jazz) to be sure, but Gimlet acting on his own). Slide is mad that Gimlet- and before him, Oiler- died, and wrongly blames Optimus's way of handling things on Earth/views it as sacrificing whoever so he gets what he wants. So for 'penance,' we're talking about for being a jerk and being wrong, not murder. On to spoilers-

The series doesn't present her as right, it presents her as wrong, and that's, like, her big character moment.

Also I'll toss in a lot of the thing *everyone* was doing was 'it doesn't matter what you did before, we'll take anyone we can get, we're in this together,' and Slide's big thing was realizing that.

You can feel she needed a dressing down or greater penance or such if that's you desire, but the character stood there talking about how they'd been wrong about everything before turning away from running in order to help out.

And the theme? It was about everyone. Transformers is full of people who get off because it's about putting conflict to an end, not getting revenge. Unicron's creator got a hug! Skywarp made it. Shockwave made it. Needlenose made it. Etc..

The arc of Slide in the end was about others being willing to tolerate Slide's anger and Slide eventually learning from this.

Optimus dies supported by the sparks of every Transformer who's there fighting and every one who has died besides, and hugging an enemy who's given up on fighting and saving everyone he knows in the process. He literally could not be less alone.

Soundwave especially blew me away this issue. Optimus did his Optimus-y thing and did it well. There was real substance to this issue. It didn't make me cry. It made me satisfied.

He's either, or both thanks to quantummy fun stuff!

    Schroedinger's Megatron.

This comic exists in a quantum flux as well. It is simultaneously brilliance, total crap, and mediocrity all at once, and only settles on one state according to the observer.

I liked the comic Thank Rung Buster survived! Every Thundercracker toy from now until the end of time needs to include a dog.

No harm done. You've always put 120% into what you do and with some of the other stuff you've got going on, you're allowed leeway as far as I'm concerned. These books have been better because you're on them. Period.

Hope you get a well-deserved break before the next gig. Thanks for everything.

With the new look, alignment with Unicron and the Void Scepter, it occurred to me he's essentially become more like The Fallen than the actual IDW Fallen. And I find that inexplicably awesome and I'm stealin' it.
