Whichever you like the look of best, I guess? There are so many Megatron options out there. I suggest not limiting yourself if you like more than one. They all fill different niches, after all.

20180325_024653.jpg It depends on what optimus you pair him with. MMC Tyrantrom-Toyworld Orion for the IDW look or Toyworld Hegemon-MP10V for the classics look. These are the choses I made for my collection. Lots of options out there. Hope this helps

I personally vote for Rioter Despotron, then get Striker Manus to have aesthetically matching Megatron and Optimus Prime, then get Striker Noir for all the awesome weapons, and accessories, then get Thunder Manus for big beefy PMOP.....

What was the thread about again? lmao

    Why should he, exactly?

It seems you're implying that these figures are inadequate for some reason.

Both toys despite being very well made respectively suffer from lackluster alt modes. I still own each of them and like them well enough but I certainly think their is an opportunity for another better realized non-mp megs to come along some day.

I think Maketoys Galvatron is likely to be the next best non-mp con leader figure we'll see. But I'm sure mmc will have others eventually as well. Perhaps Planet X will even try their hand at an IDW Megatron some day. Who knows.

    Solid reasoning.

    As for MMC Megs,

    I agree;
the whole cannon thing is... frustrating, to say the least. I'm not a huge fan of parts-forming either. I don't own Hegemon; I don't really want to either.

Between the two of them, however, I'll take MMC.

    Speaking of that,
I also love my Planet X Megatron.

I'm a sucker for a Megatron that turns into a tank.

Do you own Spark Toys Spartacus?

    How is that figure?
I'm actually quite tempted, despite the price.

I would have liked to have gotten MMC Megatron to be my "Pre-War Megatron" (kinda like having Orion Pax), but it just hasn't been in my budget. Rioter Despotron just does so many things right, and I actually really like his gun mode. You can even fanmode a decent hover-tank out of him.

Rumor has it that we will be getting a new Megatron in the upcoming War For Cybetron trilogy...which makes perfect sense. Perhaps he will make a good Megatron for some people. Personally I rather like the Titans Return Megatron, but being a mold-mate with Blitzwing knocks him off the shelf for me.

It's a damn shame Cassy Sark only did these Megatron renders for shits and giggles as he's a pretty solid take on the new Cyberverse Megatron -

Oh, and @Reclusive Vehicon , I would say Spartacus is absolutely worth owning, he's a hell of a great Megatron!!

If it's a 'tank Megatron' that's AT LEAST the size of a Voyager Class figure,

    I MUST HAVE IT.

    This is not a negotiation.

    Please help me.
    I have a problem.
    It's an addiction.

I was thinking of ditching my alpha pack and Spartacus cause the company is dead and we won’t get that Grimlock now. So I’ve been told

The new "War For Cybertron: Siege" Megatron is a quite tempting choice.

He's a nice Voyager Class Megs (that resembles CW Megatron) and he'll likely satisfy the G1-lovers.

I'm not a fan of the battle damage; hopefully, Hasbro releases a less-scarred version.

Oh, who am I kidding. We KNOW Takara will release something like that eventually.

That's a shame if they don't continue but Alpha Pack and Spartacus are amazing in and of themselves. I can't imagine ever getting rid of either one of them, especially if the companies defunct and they'll never be re-released. If you really don't want them, sit on them for a year or two and watch the value sky-rocket.
Spartacus in particular, the gorgeous weathering and paint apps all over him, the tiny little warning tampo's. Those stunning, dense yet rubbery, wheels on Alpha Pack, the overal heft and quality of the figures.
They came completely out of nowhere and totally blew me away.
