So I haven't seen it mentioned, but can any of the effects pieces (Targetmaster shots) be plugged into Megatrons fusion cannon? Or is that connection just too big?
I'll be on the lookout for this. I don't have a modern Megatron in my collection since I missed out on the Combiner Wars one and decided to not pick up the TR version (and don't plan to put the Masterpiece one in my current budget).
Has anyone figured out a way to keep Megatron neck flap locked? I'll even take a replacement locking neck flap piece from Shapeways/Nonnef/Toyhax/Dr. Woo/some random Chinese dudes.
Robot mode-wise, this guy is pretty much the Devastation Megatron everybody wanted when that game came out. Alt-mode wise the Combiner Wars version was closer, but I like the looks of this guy better overall.
Replacing the part would require popping a rather long pin, so don't look for replacement parts anytime soon. If it's that much of a bother just put a dab of tightening glue (or floor wax) on the hinge part. My copy has a decently tight hinge, so the head movement doesn't bother me. Still, I can see myself eventually doing something to secure it someday.
The lack of a neck really bothered me. It's not the neck panel that's the problem (though it doesn't help), it's the placement of the ball joint at the back of the bucket-head. He only has a visible neck when he looks up. But then I found out that by mistransforming the backpack so it sits at an angle, it improves the stance of the figure and makes the whole figure look a lot more dynamic (IMO) + plus he now has a neck (because the backpack is attached to the whole neck assembly). Default: Backpack not pegged in all the way so it sits at an angle:
I would imagine once someone who owns a Hegemon decides to buy this Megatron, then there might be a photo of them together. Can't do comparison photos with things we don't have...
I have them both and if I can stomach transforming hegemon then I’ll post pics. Seige is the better chug megs in my opinion.
Comparisons with Hegemon were already posted in the Siege Appreciation Thread. War for Cybertron: Siege Appreciation Thread http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/attac...3654034869_337573996990038016_n-jpg.28120025/ You should have looked there first.
Megatron's gun looks so much better without the sword parts: But now he needs a melee weapon. How about an old sword from the Universe repaint of a Cybertron mold (can't remember it's name...): Yeah, that works nicely: The regal tyrant:
From what I've seen, with the blades removed, his tank turret should be able to go up and down at least a little bit right?
Anyone else picking up Megatron and just placing him next to Classics Optimus Prime? I think I can totally ignore Siege Optimus.
