I see several possible explanations for it. One explanation is that the aircraft parts are transferred into subspace when the robot converts to automobile mode (this only works if you consider mass-displacement possible in the movieverse). Another explanation is that their metal (which we know has shape-shiting properties of it's own) reconfigures during transformation. I think that also explains why battle damage tends to disappear in vehicle mode.

 

*Sigh* Cloud Starscream reference. It's been planned as Blitzwing's character that far back. There was no screw up in production. It was a prepped fix for continuity reasons. That I gotta say who planned it had far more faith in the fandom to not get overworked about it and thought fans simply would enjoy it with the tongue in cheek obscure toy reference for fun. Everything else about this movie is a breath of fresh air, but hey, I guess something had to be nitpicked. You can see how it's meant to evoke Blitzwing in the head design with his blitzkrieg styled mouth guard.

He was the easiest one to create a backup character for if his G1 version was needed later since Starscream had already been used. So he's been planned to continuity fill without causing a mess to minimize the cascading name failure of renames it could cause. Smart production move that helps with longevity.

Fans are getting so stuck, even frozen on that, when they really need to let it go and enjoy the nostalgia ride.

 

IDK. I find it hard to believe with Knight being so faithful with other elements of the movie that he would purposely nameslap Blitzwing, one of the most well-known triple-changers in a movie with triple-changers. There are plenty of obscure TF names they could have used instead.

 

I got a feeling they’re gonna retcon the fact that Bee has been here since at least WWII

for a franchise that wants to treat robots as characters, its kinda strange that they portray the main character as something like a pet in all these trailers

That's interesting considering we've been choking on Bumblebee since 2007. When the fuck are they going to shift focus to some other characters??? When is the fandom going to tell Hasbro "ENOUGH ALREADY!!! We're sick of Bumblebee!"? How much longer do they need to beat this dead horse? For the love of God, at least give him back his ability to speak. I hate Bumblebee & I like mute Bumblebee even less.

Exactly my problem too. Everytime a new trailer/tv spot pop up, I always soooo tempted to watch it, but at the same time afraid it will shows too much spoiler, like TLK did with shitloads of new footages scattered in tv spots. But I always ended up watching it anyway

Nooooot sure I like the G1 transformation sound.

It only worked with when Blackout first transformed, but.... really? Meh.

Did they not confirm in one of the interviews that the white jet on cybertron is NOT blitzwing? I swear I heard/saw some article that confirmed this statement.
