Great... onslaught arrived at my local warehouse, but instead because of the strike, the estimated arrival date is next week Tuesday.

Start with the side thst moves first. First tim eimtried I was notmsure what to do either. Hook in the site thst moves outwards first then you use the internal sponges to stretch or open and then close to line up the other side. So, when you stop stretching it wil close and clasp both sides.

Thanks for the advice. That's the strategy I started and I can get the width wide enough but I can't get the flat plates of the knee and the swindle to be parallel and/or close enough to have all 4 "L" clips far enough down to engage in the holes. That's why I'm thinking the two pegs on the underside of Swindle's head are getting in the way.

They shouldn’t get in the way- they should go right into that slot.

So I grabbed Constructor as a companion piece for this guy. Hasbro devy just wasn't cutting it any more.

And I just wanted to say it's an absolute myth that Constructor is more stable. I think it's just that people have had Constructor for longer so they're used to his quirks and not yet used to Bruty's.

His hip and knee ratchets and his crotch slider are way tighter, and that reduces wobble and lean but it doesn't eliminate it. What it does do is make it harder to pose and balance him. The joints, especially the slider, are so tight it's very difficult to make small adjustments. Once you muster enough force to overcome resistance you end up overcompensating.

Also I'm really not loving the combined mode ankle joints, especially on mixmaster. Seems to put a whole lot of weight on some relatively slim pieces. I'm really surprised the cab only connects to the rest of him at the very back. When he's combined, that part bends until the front part of the mixing barrel assembly is resting on the cab roof. That can't be working as intended.

I will grant you Constructor avoids the problem Bruty has with the swindle leg disconnecting, but I found that very easy to adapt to and work around. It has only happened to me once. What falls off much more frequently is Constructor's torso fillers. The left one in particular I just go ahead and remove now before I try to do anything with him, because the slightest adjustment sends it tumbling.

Anyway, I'm not saying Constructor isn't great. He is. It's just after the fuss some Constructor owners were making in here I was expecting something different.

I have zero wobble or lean on my Constructor. He's an absolute rock. Maybe the later versions/v2 were slightly different, I dunno, but my Constructor is far more stable than Armagheddon when stood bolt upright. I dont have to use the ab crunch or turn the feet outward to achieve a solid stance. It's all anecdotal anyways so it's no more a myth than a fact across the board but it seems more ppl have had similar experiences to me than not as alot do say the same and we have to remember he's doing that with more parts/figures and connections too.

Plus the lat fillers don't really compare to the Swindle knee issues they're purely aesthetical and optional. That being said you can get them wedged in their tightly but again this is on an original release Long Haul/Hook.

I have a feeling Kronos will be more like Constructor in the stability stakes though due to the lack of huge fuck off guns not being on his back lol

That is total crap. I would expect that they will make it available for purchase at some point though. They have the mold, why not make more, you know?

God. Dammit. I decided to jump in on this set, just this last week, and messaged a retailer about the availability of one of the pieces from this set. They told me it would be better off to just wait for the box set that's coming out.
I had no idea that was a thing. Now I have one in-hand, one in my stack, and need to source out the others. F*** I really screwed the pooch on this set.
Well, at the very least, they look good on their own.

OK. I was wondering if I missed the announcement. I can say, however, that I had reached out to a retailer about getting in on this set, and when they would have full stock in, and they replied to my email that it may be better to wait for the boxed set. Take from that what you will, but it sounds to me like there is one planned.
Which also pisses me off now that I'm +2 in on their Superion set as well....

Wonder what would come in a boxed set? Extra guns, faces, etc?

Correction; I just re-read the email and it said "could be coming out." And they are not restocking the individual bots. So....f me.... it looks like I'm going to have just part of this set if/when they ever restock.

If they release a box set with a new head and chest plate then they're fucking themselves over for anything they do after Superion as ppl are already balls deep into that set.

I figured it out. I took off the head/plate and the knee attached without an issue. (I only had to remove the 2 top screws and then loosen the 2 waist screws and I could pull the chest apart to remove the plate.)

Then I checked the manual and they put the plate for the head on backwards. Now the side pegs are warped and have some serious stress marks, but the combine action works! Thanks all for the help.
