You are dead on about Sunstreaker, It is more than just a head and roof engine.

Cog would make for a decent Demolisher with a redeco of Flak as Blackout

Here are two other repaints I found, that I probably wouldn't get.

 

LOL The first thing I thought of when they announced Ironhide was that that was just WAITING for a Snow Cat redeco.

Delta Magnus would be the first one I wanna see. I just like the idea of having two Magnuses and I'm usually a sucker for repaints of good molds. After that, I wanna see Sideswipe get repainted into Tigertrack and those other Lambo repaints I forgot about. Then, I hope Soundwave gets repainted into Soundblaster and retooled to Blaster, who will eventually get repainted into Twincast.

 

Aside from the obvious straight repaints, a good remold I'd like to see is Tarn from Megatron.

Megatron with new weapons as Emarite Xaaron.

Mirage straight repaint as Indy Heat.

Prowl with a new head and retooled detachable roof/shield as Speedbreaker.

Red Alert with a new head as Mach Alert packed with a new mold Ai-chan Battlemaster that transforms into his arm cannons with fireblast effects.

Ironhide with a new "big fist" weapon and a new head as Wild Ride.

Hound with a new hook assembly and head as Wrecker Hook.

Ultra Magnus with an all new cab bot and a new fire ladder assembly as Fire Convoy. Yellow repaint of that.

 

Depending on how the Mirage figure comes out, maybe a retool to Sureshot with a retool of Firedrive to Spoilsport.

I love Shackwave. So much in fact that Shackwave is my Shockwave in my G1 collection and I really don't care if I ever get Shockwave.

But while I prefer Shackwave to Shockwave with the original G1 mold, I'm not sure if I'd feel the same way with this new mold.
