I got my Blitzkrieg in today, sort of a surprise since TF-Direct didn't give me a shipping notice and I was starting to worry I'd been cheated. It now seems like it might have just been temporarily out of stock. No harm, no foul.

Blitzy himself is, all around, the strongest of the five: His bot mode is just short of looking legit handsome, which puts him a strong step above Not-Brawl and Not-Swindle... and utterly trounces the Helicopter and Shuttle. He continues the proud tradition of the line by having a pretty sweet looking vehicle mode. Zeta seems to have no idea how to get good looking robots, but they can make a nice looking alt-mode. His materials are great, just about all the joints and tabs work wonderfully, the return of the flipping chest gimmick from Swindle is a really nice thing to see again and even if you ignore the GIANT chunks of Combiner add-ons, I personally feel that there is enough bot in the box to justify the price. It doesn't have the charm and jaw-dropping finish to be anyone's favorite piece in a collection, I don't think, but it's very GOOD and moreso than his brothers in arms, is worthy of being -A- (But probably not THE) Masterpiece Onslaught.

The combined Armeggedon is... massive and powerful looking and everything I wanted him to be. Reading some of the recent posts here, I was worried that he'd barely be able to stand, or be floppy... there is a serious vibe among some that there is something fundamentally dissapointing about the piece. I respectfully disagree: Aside from hating the blank eyes and desperatly wanting to find some red paint, the only complaint I have is that his color scheme is a tad dull. There's insufficent visual interest for how MUCH robot we're dealing with. Otherwise... he looks fantastic, he stands and holds a stable pose without issue, he feels solid overall (I too have a Swingle-knee junction that wants to let go when manipulating the knee... he has no trouble staying on once posed, though). Then I remember that I paid about $400 in total for it, brand new, on release, not a year afterwards on a discounted second run like with Constructor... I am very, VERY pleased. The giant, wonderful hands, the diecast filled feet to help plant him on the ground, the glorious proportions... if it get's a good set of Reprolabels to spice up the deco in a few months, I will be giddy.

In total, I would say this: If you are in the market for a Masterpiece set of Combaticons... this is not for you. The vehicles are great, the robots max out a 'pretty good'. But if you want an MP Bruticus to stand with Constructor or against your choice of Omega Supreme (I got Gabriel... money is on Omega, he's got the heft!), this set is very much one of the strongest available choices. They were designed to, and succeed at, making a really great giant robot: I knew that and accepted the sacrifices to get there, your potential enjoyment hinges on if you want Five-becoming-one exceptional figures, or just the one giant exceptional figure.

    On to completing a Menasor!

Saw a few mods made to the eyes here and had to give it a try. He looks so much better with the color added:

Looks so much better with the red eyes. I should have some red laying around since I had to do the same thing with TFM Havoc.

a small piece of red gaffing tape would also work and not be permanent.

Maybe the issue is inside the head, a little wire not connected, I had the same issue with the led in my Terminus Giganticus left arm, it dodn't work, I have just emailed Fanstoys and they sent me the replacement part.

Everybody knows to pull the shoulder joints out slightly when moving them rather than fight the ratchet, right? Have we been over that?

I need to get a display case for my Transformaers. I really like tour setup. What are you using for your display cases?

I had no idea those pegs underneath uproars turret that flip out and peg into his legs existed until now but that makes him A LOT more stable in leg mode

Can't speak for everyone, but that's what I did. There's four screws (two in the battery compartment). Removed them, opened the head (be careful with the spring-loaded antenna), then pushed the eyes out. Once the eyes were out I just sprayed them from a can of Tamiya TS-18 Metallic Red. Then it's just a matter of letting it dry before putting it all back together.

I had to make them myself. They are not hard to make if you have a router or dado blade and a table saw.

Despite having access to high end automotive paint and owning a air brush...... I used some old water based air brush paint that I used a very fine paint brush to hand apply without dissembling the head.

I took the super lazy way out. I figured if it looked like shit I could take it apart, sand the eyes and do it right. But I’m fine with the results and effort equation
