I get where you're coming from. I want a smaller version of Fort Max like the one in the UK comics.

With my 'personal fiction', though, I've gone for the multiverse approach - the true G1 cartoon Devastator is the one in the cartoon. The toy's a different guy from another universe (a solution I came up with years back while I was trying to figure out who the original Optimus in my collection was - I never really liked the original toy). Probably not the kind of approach you'd want to take, but it gives me an excuse to have fifty versions of a particular character on the same shelf.

I suppose, at the end of the day, I was happy to get an updated G1 style Devastator toy . Plus I spent years complaining that the original was a midget, so I really couldn't argue when the new one was a towering Titan.

I suspect that will happen, eventually. I'm pretty sure Warden made some remarks about the possibility of revisiting combiners some time back.

And I'm now semi-regretting getting all those earlier movie toys.

Well, I do like action, but when it comes to Transformers, I'm definitely what you call a movie fan.

Yes, I'm sure a designer at Hasbro will say "We really screwed up making this great figure because it didn't specifically cater to a minority of the fanbase."

"Analyzing story lines"... That's... that's called 'having standards'. You make it sound like the people who don't like these movies are snobs who don't get the 'high art' of "Bumblebee pees on a man". Like, you can have good action and not have the movie be a hollow, testosterone-fueled husk of a film.

Sorry, but "robot mode scale" just isn't a thing. It never was and it never will be. If it turns into a real-world vehicle, there's a scale based on that, and the alternative is simply getting it wrong. The cartoon got it wrong because they didn't care. Triple changers get it wrong because they are toys and aren't meant to have a scale. If you cannot put numbers on it and say "this is 1:x scale" and have x be a meaningful number based on a real-world object you can compare to, then the word you want isn't "scale"

The height chart from the G1 cartoon isn't a scale chart. The height charts from the Bay movies tried to be a scale chart. I am not sure if they got it right or not. I think the 1st movie tried to keep to scale, but they gave up after that.

I believe the movies has/had one, but it's a bit... hmm... the movies themselves are probably more accurate since they involve actual moving pieces compared to this chart, or the toys, since there's no way they can be that intricate.

The left hand of the Devastator SS is not in line with the CGI of the film... because the latter has as its component a "crawler loader" (small bulldozer with bucket loader); but since in the film does not have its own robot mode, Hasbro used another "Constructicon secondary" for the Deluxe SS, Scrapmetal (which appeared in the TF2 ROTF scene of Megatron's recovery in the sea depths... where it was destroyed to act as "spare parts" for the deceased head of the Decepticons)! Actually in the film he was represented with the "Scrapper robotic figure", instead for the Deluxe SS the concept art of P. Ozzimo was used... but here there is another contradiction related to the alternative mode, because Scrapmetal in TF2 ROTF turns into a Volvo demolition shears and not into an excavator, which instead is an Autobot appeared in the scene of scrap deposit in TF5 TLK named "Scratch"! However, even the left hand of Devastator ROTF has at the ends of the fingers "excavator buckets"... so it is right that Hasbro has opted for a compromise in favor of the combiner!

Yeah it's a big mess sadly. Although Scrapmetals robot mode is slightly different from scrapper. [IMG]
    His "arms/hands" are similar.

(I added a hand because I never liked the original)

Maybe there was a more final piece of art for Scrapmetal that we haven't seen?

Devastator left hand is actually inaccurate to the movie. The con that formed the left hand is a bulldozer/shovel. But scrapmetal here is  an excavator that transforms into the left hand. So it might be possible that Scrapmetal was revived after killed to revive Megatron.

So I know Shin has already taken action with multiple posts, and I just cleaned up some others, but let's keep the insults out of the discussion. Thanks.

    Rampage is confirmed voyager class
Scrapper is most likely voyager class
    Scrapmetal - confirmed Deluxe class
    Hightower - confirmed deluxe class
Mixmaster - could be deluxe or voyager
    Longhaul - confirmed voyager class
Scavenger & overload will most likely be both voyager or a leader and a voyager since scavenger is huge.

Here is a screen shot showing the Volvo Demolition Shears/Scrapmetal in the Devastator scene next to Hightower, as well as the yellow dump truck/Payload that is really easy to miss & gets people confused wondering where is there an extra yellow dump truck that forms into one of the legs-

    Dessert 1.jpg Dessert 2.jpg

& there is also another yellow bulldozer on that same hill next to the yellow dump truck, & there is at least one other smaller bulldozer on the ground that forms the left hand, & I think YET ANOTHER bulldozer also on the ground that forms the left leg.

    Image1.jpg

So here is a list of all the constructicons in the movie-

    1. Cement truck/head- Mixmaster
    2. Excavator/chest- Scavenger
    3. Red Flatbed dump truck/torso- Overload
    4. Mini yellow bulldozer/left hand- Ze Little One
    5. On ground Yellow bulldozer/left leg- Rampage
    6. Yellow bulldozer on hill- ?
    7. Yellow dumptruck- Payload
    8. Green dump truck/right leg- Longhaul
    9. Volvo Demolition Shears/left arm- Scrapmetal
    10. Crane/left arm- Hightower
    11. Large yellow excavator bulldozer/right arm- Scrapper

So there is definetely alot more than just eight, let alone SIX constructicons, like we got for Supreme Devastator that was in the movie. & that doesnt even include the dupe set of constructicons that were fighting else where in the movie.

This is what happens when you have 2 weeks to write a movie.

Ironically, I think the constructions being a huge group was one of the best ideas out of the movie-verse
