I was waiting to see what FT was going to put out but at $180 for Silverbolt, I'm going in on Zeta.

With Slingshot apparently being the last I hope and pray Zeta don't pull a Hasbro on us and severely shortpack him like Hasbro is infamous for with last waves and all those collectors are shit out of luck with a Superion with no left arm, talk about NERD RAGE,Zeta may end up with Death Threats if they pull something like that.

No history of 3ps pulling a stunt like that...so no need to worry!

I think zeta has the inside track on 20 inch + combiners at the moment. I have constructor ( devastator ) and like what I’ve seen from Kronos ( superion) still waiting to see a cartoon accurate bruticus in the 20 + range. I love Fanstoys but there first combiners won’t be done till sometime next year , hopefully. I’m on the fence as far as menasor. I like xtransbots but they are on the small side and I hear rumors there combiner will be in the 18 inch range. And DX9 menasor looks ok in bot modes but what to see final version of there combiner befor I commit.

They won't do that. They stand to lose far too much money by doing that. If they short-pack, then eventually they'll have to produce a second run. They'll lose sales to FT in the interim if too many people have to wait.

Check in the thread but Xtransbots have said it's a 50cm ish combiner. I think closer to 20"

Yes, supposedly much of the difference in bulk from the shorter bots will be made up with Motormaster's trailer.

3P don't ship to retailers in "waves" like that, and Hasbro, as a mass market producer, has entirely different strategies and priorities that they are dealing with. What you're talking about isn't even a thing for 3P. No need to worry.

You know after comparing different aspects of both FansToys Maverick and Zeta Silver Arrow I think Zeta is doing a helluva job with their version,FansToys just seems inferior to me (tho thats only for Superion, but their Road King Motormaster seems decent, will keep an eye on that) but while on the subject I think I will discuss some of the details.

1.Zeta managed to make their Silverbolt taller than MP Optimus Prime whereas FT made him the same size as MP10.
2.Just by looking at pics I think Zeta Kronos will be from 20" to 24" Tall in combine mode.
3.Zeta is blowing FT's price away by leagues.
4.Hopefully since FT has put up their preorders for Maverick this has lit a fire under Zeta's butt to hurry up and complete their version.

Is that a pro? That sounds like a con to me.

You can expect he'll be the same size as Constructor or Armageddon. No more, no less.

True. Although I think there's sometimes a case to be made for "you get what you pay for," and I wouldn't necessarily be opposed to paying more for something I think is "better." But lately what you pay for with FT is PITA transformations and I'd honestly be inclined to side with Zeta even if FT matched them in price.

That would be nice. Then maybe we can get some clue as to what combiner they're going to do next.

Personally I much prefer the torso/leader-type bots to be about the same size as MP-10. I know it's my own personal thing but I tend to think of Prime and Megatron as being kind of the gold standard, and think that there should only be a few characters of much larger bulk. It would feel strange to me if Motormaster were to tower over Prime, when Prime can roll him up and smoke him. The Dinobots are fine to be bigger since that's their thing, and guys like Sixshot. Idiosyncratic I know, and I'm definitely willing to trade what I think is good scale for superior combiners, but I really do like when the sizes line up a bit more with limbs being carbot-sized or slightly bigger and leader/torsos being MP-10'ish. I suppose it's one of the things, besides price, that appeals to me about XTB's Stunticons.

I hope Zeta does Menasor. I mean, why not at this point? Or, a Defensor. That, I would be all about.

I'd be all over a Defensor. Or Predaking. But between DX9, XTB, and Fans Toys I feel like Menasor is pretty well covered at that size. That said, before the Zeta/ToyWorld breakup ToyWorld was teasing that Menasor would be coming after Superion and Bruticus, so I wouldn't rule it out.

Yeah, choice is good but I think Menasor, like Devastator, has been pretty well covered if not actually done to death. There are now options for Stunticons at pretty much every conceivable scale and price point, so everyone should be able to find one that fits their particular needs by now. I would vastly prefer that companies - and especially Zeta - move on to new territory. I'm picking up GT's Protectobots because I love the bot modes but I would definitely buy Zeta's just for the Defensor. But we are very overdue now for Technobots and Predacons, neither of which have received any real representation in quite a long time, and certainly not in true MP-style. My MMC Predaking is still a great set but it's hard to believe just how long in the tooth it's getting; the 3P game has come a long way since then. Would very much like to see what Zeta would do with them. Fans Toys Predacons would probably take your breath away though, along with most of your money.

It's there if you don't mind getting your hands dirty and I'm sure parts will be available from multiple sources in time to replicate the look.

That and XTB Menasor is 49cm tall which equates to 19.29".

Kronos will be the same height as Devastator and Bruticus. Zeta aren't stupid enough to break their own scale now.

I still wonder if Zeta toys got the idea for these types of combiners from Tigerblades customs. I don't remember seeing anything like it before that.

DX9, XTB & Faaaaaans Tooooooys will have you covered for a g1 toon accurate Menasor.

Zeta will be more unique with their Studio Ox variations. If they did a Menasor the leg bots would be legs, not just calf 'muscles'.

Im holding out on Menasor to see what they do.

Predaking & Defensor? So much yes

Yes there are. (I think it might be machine boy/MBD.) Remember the KO MBD neon color Warborton? The 4 limbs were released one year earlier than Onslaught. And Onslaught is so hard to find, still very expensive to this day.
