Absolutely loving the look of these.

Keep us updated along the way. I’ve got a horde of extra shells just waiting for this project.

Doubleheader looks GREAT and Stranglehold is coming along really nicely. I love these.

Is there a possibility, long term, of making new 'backpack weapons' for the shells? Having Stranglehold unfold into a deluxe-sized ball and chain instead of a cannon would be neat, if it could be done.

Any chance of a Waverider? The fact that the mold was done and never used bugged the heck out of me.

While we’re waiting for the next stage of development, can you give us a little more info on what was off with these first prints?

Ok guys they are For Sale!

    Mr.T by MiniMondoMayhem on Shapeways

    Twins by MiniMondoMayhem on Shapeways

    Barbarian by MiniMondoMayhem on Shapeways

I made these, test printed them and made some changes, then test printed them again and made last changes. They might not be completely perfect but i am pretty happy with them as they are now and hopefully get the next lot even better.

I didn't intend for longtooth to have an octopunch pair of arms but he looks much better with them and it turns out a skulgrin or bomburst pair of arms on an octopunch body sets up quite well for a character i am doing in the next lot... So i have to buy another octopunch.

Well the difficulty is getting everything to fit really. i mentioned some things in a previous post. The last prints i got made the stranglehold fit pretty well, minamal fit changes and some cosmetic. The doubleheader i had some trouble with fitting but i was able to carve out the corrections and them make the changes to the model. Silly really that i didn't match him up better to stranglehold but i have now. Longtooth needed quite minimal changes. The first print i had i dropped and the leg broke so i knew i needed to strengthen him there as well as lighten the head making more hollow(his head made him weigh too much). It was all just a bit of a bummer in that i corrected one thing and then discovered something else that couldn't have before.

Now that they are up for sale. The things that could be better are:

Longtooths legs overlap the back shell so from the back you will see that overlap and although i tucked them in as much as i could the arms could catch his thighs as they rotate past. Maybe not so much of an issue but obviously something to think about with paint. I might sand the the thumbs rather than carve the shell. I used the overlap to good effect, where you see the round buckle on the sides of his hips in the pictures - the actual design now has these as a full circle going over the back shell.

Doubleheader, i have corrected where the titanmaster legs pushed the shell out and matched to SH so that shouldn't be a problem, he should be fine. Same as Stranglehold.

These are looking great! Is there any chance of you releasing your products in White Natural and Versatile? I would be willing to sacrifice some of the detail for a more sturdy product.

Looks great bud! What are the molds of the next set that you are going to do so we can make sure we have them? I see where you said Octopunch is one, what would be the others?

    Thank you!
I must point out the material i have it set at and the design is strong enough and can take some minor beatings, I don't predict it being a problem for anyone as long as you apply a little care. It is not extremely fragile but i mention it so people are conscious of it. Yeah, i want to steer away from white natural if i can help it, I have used it for small stuff and in some circumstances it is ok, namely smooth surfaces, but others anything with indents and edges it looks chewed and doesn't look better even caked in paint. I really don't think it would work andwouldn't be worth the effort anyone puts in. I might try the cheaper and less detailed version of the material it is set at now even then i still think it worth the extra to have the smooth surfaces. I hope there are going to be some innovations in 3d print materials to replace the white natural.

    Thanks!
I hope i get two done on the next round. One using Octopunch(swap arms with Longtooth) and one using Cloudburst! I know Cloudburst is the rarest mold so i am going to try limit his use to just two shells i make. Yeah one will be Waverider and the other i will leave as a surprise in next round. Create some suspense why not.

    Holy moly these are spectacular.

Looking forward to see how you expand out from here. There's still a lot of Pretenders left to tackle! All of the Wave 2 guys from '88, Pincher, and then if you're feelin' real froggy, the rest of '89...

(If you ever get around to doing the Classic Pretenders, I don't know how you make Jazz a black dude at that teensy tiny scale, but c'mon. Make Jazz a black dude.)

I love these and can't wait to nab a set!

For Bludgeon, is there any chance of seeing a tank turret shield to peg into his shoulder hole?

Hey guys thanks for love. Keep the requests and ideas coming, i absolutely can't manage everything but you never know a few things might make it. I am concentrating on new shells but things to clip on might come round eventually. If i made Jazz i think i will paint him a black dude, everyone can paint the shells however they want so...

    Update:
    image.jpeg

Just about to do the test order for these two, fingers crossed they come out good. One goes on an octopunch shell, the other a cloudburst.
