I got home tonight to find a package from China. Expecting something else, I opened it to find Katana....

Baba shipped it on the 15th, 7days later it's at my door. That is pretty impressive, well done sir.....

Yeah, it is a bit annoying. I found a tiny tab that snapped off on one shoulder as well.(was bent beforehand)

Nothing that affects transformation, as far as I can tell. Robot mode, he looks fantastic. Slight detracting from helicopter mode, but this is the first time I've had a GT figure suffer from fragility and I've bought every one of them so far.

ETA: Now, that being said, and having transformed him from helicopter to robot and back, nothing else seems to be a problem. There's(mileage may vary) the usual matter of getting to line up right with all the panels and such that fold away in GT designs. Getting the rear and front sections of the alt mode to completely tab together is a bit of a pain but nothing that detracts from the alt mode in any significant way.

Yeah, I think I might have jsut gotten bad luck on the QC/handling were the only things I ran into problems with. Despite those, am pretty sure I may go in on a second if I can't get a replacement/parts. He's a beauty to behold in helicopter and while robot mode has some flaws, also fun in that form.

Sarge didn't come with any combiner kibble so I'm going to surmise that all those pieces will be packaged with Hot Spot and that is why he will cost a bajillion dollars.

I just got mine yesterday and had the exact same two issues. The rotor blade in the back is nearly torn off and the shoulder tab was slammed forward from factory mistransformation. The tab I was able to bend back without snapping but there's nothing I can do for the rotor blade except hide it. Pretty shitty. I am curious what happened to their signature black on black packaging. Every other GT bot I have ever gotten was superbly secure inside. This looks like some angry people just threw the shit in the box.

Katana is super fiddly. So much crap on him is difficult or loose and he feels fragile, so you don't feel comfortable mashing things or when you do, it undoes something else. It's MT Groove all over again. GRRR. He does look pretty damn good tho.

Thank you for the information. Btw, is it possible to let me know what is the dimension of the package? It looks large.

Yeah. The first picture, trying to get the rotor for the roof blades to line up right in copter mode is a pain. The shoulder tab was slammed forward on mine and I tried to gently bend it back but it came off. It doesn't seem a huuuge issue, mind. At least the lower part of the tailfin on yours was intact.

Bao did msg me though and is going to see about replacement pieces. I do agree about the packaging though. They're pursuing the same idea as previous packaging, but all three recent releases had inferior foam and cardboard compared to the rest. :/

Just got mine (Showz) and everything was fine - a rotor blade is very slightly warped but nothing significant/can't be fixed. It suffers only from a 'feels like this may break' syndrome as there's lots of small panels, an the plastic holding the arm for the extension is scary sparse (so don't pull too hard). I wish they'd gone bigger for scaling reasons, but mainly because then things wouldn't feel so flimsy.
But just for balance, no issues with my copy. Looks good as well.

Can someone update me on which figures have been released so far? Has Foo Fighter come out yet?

The only two out so far are Sarge (Streetwise) and Katana (Blades). First Aid *was* due to be the next out, I believe, but we've seen pictures of Groove seemingly near completion so he may have been bumped up the order.

I agree... though I don't think it is a problem with scale but the change to a much flimsier flexible but brittle feeling plastic that they started down since TFM Menasor. It was okay on figures like Sarge and even the T-Beast Optimus but these panels make it scary. I'd rather pay a higher price for the nicer plastic that they had for Gravity Builder.

Took advantage of the recent (weak-ass) eBay flash sale to pick up Katana. I had some eBay Bucks come due and so after that was still able to get him for less than $70 shipped, so I am a happy camper. I've pretty excited to get this guy in, he looks great, and what we've seen of Groove has got me really hopeful for the rest of the set. Protectobots are my favorite combiner team bar none and have been a major goal for my collection, once these are all released I may well finally decide to kick the plastic crack habit.

Just messed with Katana. First off...designers are super amazing on what they can do with a small helicopter and make it become transform into a pretty good looking bot.

Like others have mentioned the panels are thin, otherwise it would be chunky like Zetas Vortex, and its scary tabbing in the shoulders...I was waiting for it to fly out of my hands and break! Thankfully none of that. It does look amazing in bot mode. Do I like the thin panels, no, but they ultimately keep his look cleaner and leaner instead of chunky. And unfortunately there just ain't much you can do about those landing skids :/ I can see why this took awhile.

    Lets get the rest out!!
