Simple as that. What makes you such a fan of the Franchise?

My brother's raised me on the Movie and G2. I , on a whim took a look at the Death of Optimus Prime comic and was taken by how our beloved hero broke down the politics of peace. I realized the franchise was actually intelligent and not just robot aliens beating the breaks off of each other. From that point on I became invested and started to search for more things in the Franchise with a similar tone, came across the Aligned Continuity and loved it.

What is your favorite thing about the Franchise?

The toys, followed by the cartoons.

Optimus Prime was my first TF toy and I've never looked back. The cartoon made him the best hero and all of the characters a favorite in some way.

I do like when there's depth, I do, but I don't want to get too far from their reason for being, the toys. I love my plastic crack.

Everything. Action figures without characterization are too one-dimensional. Action figures OF characters are a version of a “real” thinking feeling being you can hold in your hand. They are relatable and are more than just the sum of their toy and character components. But, I also enjoy the history and twists and turns that real people have taken to get this franchise where it is today. From Takara to Hasbro to Marvel, Sunbow, all of the voice actors, toy designers, comic artists and writers, live action movie makers...the list goes on and on. The TF universe is huge and complex and well over 35 years in the making when you take into account the pre-TF underpinnings of the original designs. Here’s to hoping it only continues to get better.

G1 and movie was what I love but before the show it was the toys that pulled me in. I’ve always loved robots and transformers were no exception. As a kid not only did I play with them but I would literally just stare at them as well lol

The toys and the characters! The characters have me inspiration to make my own franchise of colorful characters in the future! No they don't transform.

I got an original Megatron figure for Christmas before I even knew what Transformers were. I was pretty obsessed with Star Wars up to that point, but from then on I was hooked on those robots that could change into vehicles. For me, it was those two (or more) modes that made them so awesome.

A huge reason that G1 took off was the effort they put into the characters.

But for me, it was the lore. The history of the crazy 8 million year long war, and what happened. The history of the Transformers and their planet. That's what got me. Even now the best thing about the IDW comics is fleshing out that history.

Also, the story outside the story. How it came to be. The 3-prong attack of comics, TV show and toys. And the continuation in Japan. And the Beast Wars extension. And the various reboots means there are at least 8 different continuities ongoing, and all of them and none of them is correct. There is no canon. That allows unlimited diversity of the stories and characters. And that has always been the case. Like how there is no such thing as "the original Megatron". There were 3 different ones immediately - comics, toon and toys, and they were all different.

Seeing all those different altmodes and colors and design as a kid was a blast.
Variety is the core and attraction of this franchise to me.

I was little when G1 was on TV first and I loved the cartoon and had a handful of the toys .
When the movies started I loved the nostalgia and now i can't get enough of the toys , the characters , the cartoons and the different histories .

Transformers has pretty much become a way of life and a fantastic escape from reality .

The toys, definitely. Articulated robots that can transform into cars, jets, dinosaurs etc, it's like I'm buying two toys in one with every figure.

They're sentient robots; they have emotions, drama, history, personalities, and character flaws. Plus, they're aliens. That's just plain awesome. It's something that makes Transformers irrefutably unique and my favorite franchise of all time. Transforming into various vehicles, objects, and oftentimes lifeforms is a bonus in the badassery department.

For me it's the general premise. I'm actually kind of surprised the idea of "robots in disguise" didn't catch on earlier than the '80s (say, during the sci-fi craze of the '50s). To me it just seems like such an...obvious (for lack of a better word) thing to do with robots. Even before I got into Transformers, I always liked the Star Wars Droidekas and whatnot.

It helps that the premise is supported by great designs. Visual/art design has always been very important to me, and Transformers (often) just has a design style that appeals to me. I still think the original Optimus, Megatron, and Soundwave have some of the coolest robot designs ever.

Finally, the fun characters. Need I say any more?

Honestly...storytelling doesn't really factor into my enjoyment for the brand that much. I enjoy a good amount of the stories, but I don't necessarily think of strong, deep stories when I think of Transformers. The three things listed above are generally what comes to mind when I think of the brand.

(Pre-rant: this has to do more with the fandom than the actual franchise.)

I love how Transformers, despite its major push to cater more towards G1 and the older crowd, still is able to find an audience in younger people. I'm only 19, and my first introduction to Transformers as a whole was seeing episodes of Cybertron on Cartoon Network, and I was hooked. To this day, that show and its toyline hold as much meaning to me as G1 and Beast Wars does to many older fans. I've met people who consider Armada, RID, Animated, Prime, and even the Movies to be their G1, and it just makes me happy. It also makes me happy to see younger fans get more involved in the community. It's awesome to see people my age making art and videos and discuss the transforming plastic robots we all love. I've never felt such a sense of community before, and I cherish it.

The transformering part. The fact that transformers combine the four things that kid love is the one of the reason why it survived so long compare to most shows about living robotic beings.

    The fans.

ABSOLUTELY fucking kidding about that. What my favorite thing is about the TF franchise is that it pretty much begs you to take the bios and make your OWN fiction. I love that more than anything.

They are giant robots that transform into other things. When I was a kid that's all it took to make me instantly a fan of the toys and the cartoon. Now that I'm nearly 40...it's the same.

It's two toys in one! AND they have a character card, filling in the need for (And in some cases, opening up) imagination!
