The yellow is inaccurate but that wasn't what I was referring to. BBBB is still colored throughout the limbs in areas that are washed out black on MPM-3. Here is an older picture of both BBBB and APS-01U for reference: Again I have no issues with the engineering on either MPM-3 or MPM-4 nor did I cite it as a problem with my original post. Engineering wise they are easily on par with the current MPs. The paint applications aren't.
to be fair and correct me if I'm wrong on BBBB I only see grey/metallic colored plastic on the limbs while on mpm it's black/gunmetal grey with some silver accents here and there, so what was your argument again?
Color wise BBBB happens to be more accurate to the source material than MPM-3 is. If HasTak had their shit together for MPM-3 and MPM-4 those releases would've looked like the LT versions on day 1. These guys are colored better than any previous version of movie Bee and Prime. MPM-3 and MPM-4 are not.
Perhaps that has something to do with cartoons being far more simple in detail and colors? If we are comparing toys to other toys then the MPM line has as many paint apps as the MP line when it started. To the onscreen counterparts, yes the MPM figures are lacking in paint but again it has to do with the vast amounts details compared to the cartoons. There are hundreds of varying metallic shades on the live action bots that would be unrealistic to put on a affordable figure. Circled are the paint apps that the MPM figures have that are not present on Battle Blades Bee and Leader Prime. That's not including the fact that Bee's alt mode is fully painted and Prime has all his flames with pinstriping. I'm sorry, I'm failing to see how the facts line up with what your saying. Perhaps it is better to say that the MPM paint apps are not up to your standards instead of saying they aren't up to MP standards. Again, just my opinion, but all the MPM figures have been awesome aside from the unfortunate tabbing issues with Prime.
You hit the nail on the head on this one. While I understand why other people are satisfied with the Hasbro/ Takara releases, all the previous points that you've made are spot on. The fact that we pay close to $100 for bee and $120 for prime only to get something not even half decent paint wise, with a side of possible qc issues is kind of mind boggling. If the price entailed a much better paint scheme and proper qc I would be willing, but as it stands I simply can't support the mpm line
And yet those details were all hit in various degrees APS-01U and Buster. Even the original 07 Leader had an orange fad towards the front near the grill that is missing on most figures since. This standard was already set by HasTak so why did the MPMs move backwards? You literally used the most vanilla basic budget version of a mold that has had about a dozen or so releases, each with a superior paint job. I'll give you props on BBBB and concede that point but let's not pretend that the original vanilla RotF leader is a stand in for APS-01U. Look it is fine if you like the MPMs that have been released so far. They are mighty fine figures, nobody can argue that. That doesn't change the fact that they do not hold up to the same level of scrutiny that mainline MPs are. MPM-7 being a screen inaccurate cash grab alone shows that the line isn't intended to be the slavishly screen accurate physical representation of iconic characters that the MPs are.
Oh, I'm sorry, I thought this was the MPM Ironhide thread. I guess it's actually the every MPM BUT Ironhide thread...
I don't get why everybody's obsessed with his stupid cannons, they were completely useless the whole time he had em. He only managed to hurt two cons (1 of which he barely left a brunt on until Jazz fired second) in two movies, the rest of the time is just him shooting blanks in the battlefield.
"Ironhide mistreated his Cannons before the battle, hence the Cannons left him to his fate for payment for his grave insolence stemming from his disgraceful tendency to show Them off to mere humans. Fortunately for Ironhide, the Cannons were merciful, and They gave him another chance for redemption. But Ironhide continued to choose the path of sin, so the Cannons abandoned him to the hands of Sentinel Prime, the anti-Cannon due to his heavy use of blasphemous swords as foreseen in Scripture, and didn't intervene to save his life" (Book of Pew-Pew, 13:12-15).
It would be frustrating if we had to suffer all the waiting to end with a product with an enormous flaw design. Depending on the date of Oku's source. This line is cursed, every toy next to bumblebee has an enormous flaw that cannot be unconsidered.
Barricade's biggest issue (to some people, not me) it's to not include frenzy, but not even SS does it. (for the better or the worse)
To be fair, if usefulness was the measurement for MPMs, the line would be limited to Prime, Bee, 07 Megs, Sentinel, and Lockdown.
In an attempt to no longer clog up Ironhide's thread, I sent you a PM. I hope the mess of a copy of Ironhide was an early copy that has been fixed by now. Ironhide is one of my favorite designs and my most anticipated figure of the year.
That’s not a flaw though, if anything frenzy should just be considered an accessory. With how perfect Barricade is, I am totally fine finding an old human alliance frenzy on eBay and calling it a day. But you’re right, it would be a major shame if they delayed Ironhide all this time and he couldn’t tab together properly. That would make this release a let down and also create lack of confidence in MPM-8 before we even know anything about it. Hopefully the Chinese reviewer is just wrong in their assessment
