My little girl is gonna love these. She wants to collect robots like her dad.

 

Honest question. Do these two little pirate dudes turn into underwear?

I mean, underwear kind of work for the toilet troop theme. The only other thing I can think of is maybe they're some kind of soap dispenser or maybe one of those air fresheners that spray every so often. Just because of that hook hand.

Or maybe they're shorts, like short shorts, and the big belt on them is an actual belt and the hook hand is the little metal tongue that you stick through the holes in the belt. And see how they have little circles on the side of what looks like a coat? Maybe that's the buttons on the button fly.

Sorry. I don't know why I'm fixated on these two.

These look super awesome and super cute! I can definitely see myself picking a pack of these up on occasion as like an add-on item to up my Amazon total to get free shipping. Hopefully these aren't very much. If these more than $10 for a 5-pack and $15 for an 8-pack, Hasbro's crazy! I can totally see these being a thing at parts parties at TFcon. "Eh, do you have a Burger Bot? Wanna trade for my EraserHead?"


BTW, that hockey puck dude should totally have "99" on his jersey instead of "09". And it should be blue and orange instead of green and yellow. He'd be a nice little Gretzky homage. Maybe Reprolabel could hook us up with a conversion set. Or maybe that will be like a special hidden rare variant. Or, ya know, just make his jersey red and he could be a Gordie Howe homage.

Oh, and someone needs to repaint that TV guy as Mike The TV from ReBoot!

You can tell that the designers had fun making these. Loving these little dudes already!  

 

RIGHT??? I'm 40 and thus am supposed to be all about the complex G1 collectors' pieces BUT FORK THAT ME WANTEE THESE ALL

I mean, is it Hasbro's fault that adults buy their products? Generations is definitely geared towards the older/nostalgia collector but the majority of Hasbro TF stuff is not. Cyberverse, Rescue Bots and movie toys (outside of Studio Series) are all targeting pre-teens. Studio Series and Generations is supposed to have crossover appeal across older and younger fans but the higher price point skews it towards the adult collector.

If these Botbots were targeting older collectors they would all be G1 characters with a possible bump in cost. But these are $3.88 a pack no-name cutesy figures.

If the Sports Pack had a baseball figure I'd be tempted to get that though, lol. Actually a lot of these figures could serve as props for your regular figures. I currently have MP10 holding a baseball bat/bottle opener because they scale well together...

Very cute. The fact they do transform is nice touch to stand out in the "dozens of collectible tiny things" market. I hope transformations all make a decent effort hide the robot.

You gotta be careful with something like this. Get a few and you're in. $3+ feels like a big bite for individuals though. If the packs actually cover all of them I'll be happy.

I'm really pleased they're stepping away from the Bots v Cons set up, and will be more pleased if it's not there at all. Just a bunch of tiny guys who are fun and kinda silly.

 

My 4 year old is going to love these! He's balls deep into the blind bag minifigure craze. Hell, he wants figures that look like beans right now!
The best thing about this line is that it will hopefully appeal to both boys and girls.
