It really is a great set in my opinion. It’s a very stylized take on the Bruticus but when combined they are just awesome together. The bots aren’t that bad either. If you just got the x-ray set I strongly recommend you read the thread on it because it’s very easy to break trying to install the legs and hips. Just hate to see you buy that and it breaks on you because the tolerances are bad. The set is kind of like constructor So you need to give it a very thorough once over to make sure everything is there.

$200 for the whole set the set is a screaming deal in my opinion

The Jinbao OS KO set is great too. "Ratched" up a notch.

I bought my set used a few years back, assembled them and put them on display. This week I've been having a sort out and swapping out all the upgrade kits I've recently got... then I came across the bag of bits I had for this set. How can I tell if the pieces in the bags are the replacement parts, or if they're the originals and the new ones have already been swapped out?

I contacted the ebay seller, but he can't remember.

You're better off leaving them alone unless something is actually broken.. Breaking parts in the process of replacing stable parts is not fun :(

Unless he's talking about the replacement torso for Blastoff and the new combiner ratchet?

    Yes.

So there wasn't actually anything that wrong to begin with? It seems I've most of Blast Off's parts as spares... what was wrong with that figure?

The ankles bits are the same ankle bits that were installed originally...they just gave you spares because they have a habit of snapping if you ankle tilt Bruticus too much. Brittle clear plastic and all that. If they click and are ratcheted, leave them be unless they break. You could take the new ones and sand them down a little to make them push less against the ratchets if they ever break. That helps but it's definitely a "If it's not broke, don't fix it" thing IMO.

Blast Off (Airburst?) came with a new body in some versions on their Onslaught. There was an issue with the combiner peg that it wouldn't ratchet on that guy. Not all Onslaughts came with it. Also the new Airburst peg sometimes wouldn't let go once you put it in the combiner slot. It was sorta of a double whammy. In the end I took the ratcheting part of the peg and put it the original peg to get both to work. The new V2 Airburst has little tabs too on his chest so you can pop open the landing gear compartments for shuttle mode easier. The original didn't have any tabs so it was a bitch to get it open (that's how I can tell the difference between the two).

    Hope this help! :)

Hmmmm... *nod* at least that one would be easy to discern prior replacement. I remember much finger pain after WB01's assembly and bit upgrades. I would not wish that on anyone lol

It is a good deal. That's why I just picked a set up from BBTS as well. Looking forward to it. Used to have one but sold it a while back. I've been regretting it ever since.

I got them originally for bot mode on my shelf but when I got UT's for that, I ended up combining them for the first time at that point. It's not straight up G1 Bruticus but it's a neat take on it and he's just got presence on my shelf. Love that big guy :)

I don't read the IDW comics, but I think it matches up well with other Generation Toy or TransFormMission figures in style as well as size. That style and size is pretty much all I collect now, so that's why I've been missing the 'big guy'.

how would you peeps rate the quality of the KOs to the "official" one? i have the machine boy one, and its kinda crap (shoulder joints dont hold the arm up, hands and feet falling out etc), and the wukong onslaught has had many parts replaced with ones i printed out.

I have the official and is not perfect, quality is ok, some joints too tire or some marks on plastic do to fabric quality but overall is a solid combiner, just some gunpla tecnics and everything looks beautifull and feels solid, time to time transform it in all modes (even the 6 for Onslaught) and no problem. I have mine since 2 years ago and plastic keeps fine.

My MachineBoy Swindle has a lot of spru marks. But the plastic quality is as good as WBT, and the QC is actually superior. The OSKO version is superior in every aspect.

In short, this is the only toy I have owned that has improved with every knock off. But that's not hard; Warbotron was crap.

ouch i think my warbatron feels fine, i almost got the mb ver. but i got a legit one for the same price bcuz bruticus deals seem to always show up for me idk it's weird, the only knit pick i have with the combiner is the legs as elbows, beyond that i think it's a great combiner for the size, i'd pick up computron if i could find a deal on him like i got for warbatron but he doesn't go for $100-150 :(

So I just bought 3 members off BBTS, cause of how cheap they were. Now I've heard stories of stress marks and bad joints, but after messing with mine out the box they seem fine or not as bad as I thought, but my question is was there a revision to these guys to help fix some issues?

Blast Off has an entire chest replacement and ratches, replacements for feet on Bruticus and other than that I don't know about fix stress marks, but for nubs is just an exact knife. You can see reviews on YouTube.

Generally an exact knife and some sand paper fix many issues. If you build gundams, it will be easy.
