Kinda OT, but does anyone know where to preorder the invisible venom exclusive coming down the pipe end of this year? Bbts is the only North American retailer I’ve found that even has a listing and they’re sold out...
So I took my TMNT Revoltechs out of storage and... my Leo and Donnie both have these spots on the shells, like the paint is just GONE. My Raph and Mikey don't have this, and they certainly didn't have it before. I'm straight up baffled. I kept the plastic wrap or whatever they originally came in to keep this kind of stuff from happening, but now I have no idea.
Finally had time to crack open the Revoltech 1989 Batmobile and I like it a lot. I really wasn't expecting this thing to have lights but it does on both the front headlights and rear taillights! There's a bit of bleed through with the white LEDs but that's forgivable given the small size (just consider it extra ground lighting effects ). Cockpit canopy can slide open (not the smoothest or easiest thing to open) but the interior is nicely detailed. Too bad this doesn't include a miniature Michael Keaton Batman to place inside and drive it but I guess Kaiyodo couldn't spring for the likeness. Other accessories include the twin machine guns that go on top of the hood, the side ventral blades Bats uses to cut the Joker's balloon wires, the turntable that goes underneath the Batmobile to enable to spin 180 degrees (or to just disable it from getting it stolen), and two grappling hook wires that enable it to make sharp turns when it takes corners fast like in the movie. Makes for a great desk model!
Yeah, it's pretty cool. Just smaller than I was expecting. I got one on sale a while ago and I like it but I still think they are a bit expensive for what you get.
Do the wheels roll on the Batmobile? I've considered the Delorean and the Camo Tumbler whenever I see them on sale (though maybe not the Delorean as often) but if a car can't roll then it kind of kills all interest in it. lol.
Yeah, if I didn't get it on sale I would have felt a bit taken for a ride. But it does the job for the price I paid. The wheels do indeed roll. Not the smoothest action (it feels a bit "gummy" but that's Revoltech for you; it's not a Hot Wheels so it can't freely speed down a smooth surface if you zoom it along and let go) but they will have traction if you push the vehicle forward with your hand. The two front wheels are on small Revo joints to simulate an axle but the wheel wells are so small and tight that turning the wheels is a chore and doesn't work all that well. I also have the DeLorean and it rolls a bit better than the Batmobile. All four wheels are on Revoltech joints to simulate the BTTF2 flight mode. Hope this helps.
Thanks! Good to know they can roll even if not hot wheels. Not quite convinced that Revo vehicles are for me but if a sale presents another opportunity I can at least consider it more.
I think the Revoltech looks much nicer than the BAF, but I agree that the price isn't worth it right now. I'm just glad that I got mine back in 2016 before the price shot up.
The Revoltech Ultron really does look way nicer than the ML BAF. However, I'm not spending no $250 for it. I regret forgetting to order it...but oh well. He ain't worth that price to me. And I do have the BAF so I'll have to settle for it.
Really? Right off the bat, the paint apps are better on the Revoltech to say nothing of the tooling. The ML BAF just seems to have that plain jane boring matte silver, while the Revoltech appears more "shinier." The joints are obviously different, and it doesn't have that pronounced waist swivel that the ML BAF has. I dare say the Revoltech has more pose-ability than the ML BAF. Basically the overall detailing is better on the Revoltech.
Yeah, it’s not even close. I’m just glad I don’t care about MCU figures enough to own either but I would love to see a classic comic style Ultron from a quality company sometime. But yeah, Revo handed everyone else their asses, including Bandai when it comes to this MCU Ultron.
Eh, for my collection, I kinda like being nitpicky. However, I do agree at the current secondary market pricing..it's not worth it. The original MSRP? Without a doubt I wouldn't have hesitated. Not sure why I forgot about it. Too late now lol.
It does, BAF Ultron has very, very limited hips. It might not seem like it in galleries but it's painfully evident when trying to pose it in hand.
Yea but that's to be expected, they're made to have more poseability. Even for a ML, BAF Ultron has limited hip range, that was my point.
