Mine has finally left the Chinese TaoBao warehouse on it's way to me today. The final cost including shipping to Aus was US$245. That's substantially better than even Show.Z's price and serves to remind me just how much of the price we pay at western retail is a combination of these retailers shipping and their markups.
The actual price for this figure in it's own market (ie China) was US$180 and the sellers were offering free domestic shipping for it. So anyone in Lewin Reources actual home market that bought this paid US$180. The higher prices we are paying are solely because we are outside the normal market for this and we are going to extreme lengths to get it in spite of this geography (ie: buying from expensive "western" retail operations, or paying extreme shipping cost's for international delivery)
For $180, @GAUGE wasn't actually too far off the mark with his price demand of $125. Unfortunately no 3P figure of this size and weight is going to actually arrive in our hands for that low a price. Even direct shipping from China cost me $65, so a retail price of $125, equates to only a $60 price tag for the actual figure.
I don't have it in hand, but judging on what folks have said here, $180 is a good price for this and reflects it's value well. The extra amount I'm paying is pretty much the fee for living outside of Lewin's marketplace and still wanting the figure. Whether others feel its worth paying that extra fee, or the higher fee they pay for ordering from TDirect or Show.Z etc is their own call.

I'm not going to even touch whether US$180 is worthwhile for a person iving in China on Chinese wages, as I have no knowlegde about the salaries or cost of living there.

Yeah weight is a big factor here, there is a lot of metal and it's heavy. Fort Max and Metroplex weigh half as much or less. Closest thing to weight might be FT's Omega Supreme, but I believe this is heavier. So the weight is affecting the shipping.

Amaznon lists the weight of both Parts A and B of Terminus together as around 5.5 kg. The fuill set of TW Constructor I thnk is around the same?
Lewin Prime comes in just shy of 10KG.
I struggle to think of any other Transformers product that's even close to the weight of this sucker.

$125.00 isn't free. As another poster already mentioned, It's the price I was willing to pay BEFORE shipping.

With Shipping, I was hoping it wouldn't be more than $200.00

So please explain, How am I wanting a Free figure again?

AGAIN, 300+ is way too much for a KO of a KO

I don't care how you try to justify your reasoning.

And, like I said. I'm very happy with mine. And I never plan on selling it.

BUT... If something happened and it was say.... an Emergency and had no choice. I'd never in a million years get that 300 back. I'd have to probably sell it for less than half of what I paid. Because AGAIN, it's a KO of a KO and I'll never lie to people about that.

*knocks on wood* Hopefully, Nothing happens to which I'd need to sell it, but nobody can predict that sorta thing.

Explain where in your original post you said that $125 was the price you were willing to pay BEFORE shipping. You mentioning that it doesn't feel like a $300 (which includes shipping) figure and it should have been $125 in the same context makes it appear that you want this @ 125 with shipping as well. There is your explanation.

I don't really care if it's a KO of a KO because the KO (MPP-10) that Atlas was KO'd from is actually better than the original product MP-10. MPP-10 has better paint applications, better joints and better leg proportions (longer) than MP-10. What matters most to me is the build quality. If it's built well, gets good reviews, is decently priced and (most importantly) I really like the character, then I will make the purchase. I don't treat my TF figures as investments. Once I purchase them, I treat that as money LOST and move on.

Yup. Atlas is by far the heaviest TF figure out there.
My TG in bot-mode weighed in at around 11 lbs. Atlas was about 17 lbs.
I think the next heaviest figure is DX-9 Gabriel which (from what I've heard) is ~12 lbs.

    Ebay:
Why don’t people that own the figure chime in and say whether they would buy it again at the current price point(with shipping-$300-$339)knowing how the figure is in hand, if they didn’t already own one. I’ll start be saying I paid $329 shipped and would buy it again at this price if I didn’t already own one.

I would buy it again in a heartbeat. I told myself when I initially saw the photos that if it was $400 or under (shipped), then it's mine.

I'm not really getting the argument that it's a KO therefore should be cheaper, this isn't just upscaled but all joints etc reworked to factor in the excess weight, along with fitting in all the lights I'm not sure how this is your run of the mill KO and only deserving of a KO price.

I think the current price including shipping is more than fair

Sorry if this derails the thread but here's another big boy to go alongside Lewin! 50-60cm in height supposedly and about $500 AUD / $350 USD

hmmmm... That's a deceptively large box (combined with a slightly smaller than average American male?).
I guess the boxes of the two figures might be comparable, but if that 1/20 at the beginning of your advert pic refers to its scale, then that'd make the pilot slightly smaller than a g.i. joe figure (which is 1/18 scale, i.e. ~3.75").
    Other listed dimensions of [570mm x 620mm] = [57cm x 62cm] which is roughly [22.4" x 24.4"].

I think this OS'd Optimus is in scale to 6" figures (I should find out within the week since I got the tracking number yesterday!!:D :D )

Found this other pic, out the box, that gives a better idea of the figure's scale 'in-hand.' ;)

This might scale quite nicely with some of the custom GI Joe strikers I recently picked up...

I might have to look more into this how posable this valkyrie is as well as its pilot's accessibility.

Wow that massive Valkyrie looks very cool. But I won’t buy it. It has no place in my collection. I will skip it.

Just need to keep repeating that to myself.

Lewin actually has fixed battery covers for the head now. I got one free with the replacement parts I asked for from TF-Direct. Also, it looks like they are reinforcing the connection slots for the smokestacks as well in future runs. I wonder what else they'll be changing?

You might try asking your seller if you can get one of the fixed battery covers from Lewin.

If I was gunna get a giant Valkyrie—or really any Valkyrie, a “Do You Remember Love” version is what I’d go with, besides maybe Isamu’s and Guld’s units in “Macross Plus.”

Still, while it’s not a need, that looks awesome... after asssembly and paint if that is a model kit! xD

@ShowZStore Have you heard anything about a new battery cover? Any chance of getting a fixed battery cover?
