For what it's worth, that actually gets discussed in OP #24. You might not find the explanation satisfying, but it's acknowledged.

 

Well he did go into this expecting the worst and hoping for the best. #2 and #3 seem pretty likely for poor TC--unless Skywarp takes a bullet for him and goes down in his place.

 

Another layer of poignancy added to the Seekers reuniting: They are the last surviving members of the original Decepticon infiltration unit on Earth. They started this, they're gonna end it.

 

Nah, Prime knows not to get between them, now that Arcee finally accepted her feelings for someone.

Hmm...that makes me think a 4th option could happen: Starscream wants to make the sacrifice for the glory, but TC gives him a speech about forgiving himself and living on to make the most of it, then makes the sacrifice.

So many options.

Based on the first OP #25 issue, with all of these characters on it, I think it's pretty much confirmed they'll all survive.


Who will most likely live:

Aileron: I don't think she'll die, seeing as if she does, Arcee is gonna go back to her pessimistic ways from RiD.
Tracks and Needlenose: Blurr died saving these two, so I think they'll be good.
Windblade: Seems like too important of a character to die.
Ironhide: I have a feeling he'll be okay. Even tho the 2009 #31 is essentially non-canon, I still think he'll take up the role of the next Alpha Trion, so to say.
Stardrive: See Prowl below.

Who I'm 50/50 about:

Prowl: I REALLY hope he doesn't. Part of me thinks he'll successfully kill Shockwave, while another part thinks Shockwave will kill him, only to be killed by Stardrive.
Chromia: She hasn't done a whole lot this series aside from #2. Think she'll die saving Windblade, but could possibly live.
Starscream: Don't wanna jinx it, but as many are saying here, I think he'll end up being the one to kill Unicron by sacrificing himself. Really hope though this "Redemption Equals Death" trope gets subverted tho.

Who will most likely die:

Skywarp: One of the seekers DEFINITELY has to die.
Some of the Dinobots

Shockwave: Right now I'm thinking Prowl, or Stardrive will do him in.
Bludgeon: Would love to see Slug or Metroplex kill him.
Unicron: Talisman is definitely gonna kill him. Question is, who pulls the trigger?

They changed nothing, Optimus X Arcee was never hinted at, never pushed before or after DC. Fucking stop clogging up the threads with your ship whining.

 

Also apart from Ratchet & Wheeljack all of Prowl's covert team are here for the finale too.

 

Pre-DC she was closer to Prowl tho, working for him in the shadows after escaping Gorlum. She didn't really interact with OP until after, when they went to earth, at which time she got locked in the ship (pun intended) with Sideswipe and grew close to him.

 

If TC dies...

Visionaries seems to be a hand-out just to explain why they aren't there in the finale.

Windblade on the whole doesn't have the largest role in the event, which is a bit of a disappointment. I agree with those who would've loved to see more TAAO til the end- though the reboot probably wasn't yet settled on at that point, and I understand why they did.

That wasn't my read at all. He still chose what he became, it was 100% his fault, just wondering might've beens. Everyone has reasons.

Agggh, inaccurate comic industry doom and gloom, my one weakness! IDW is having trouble, the industry is up over last year, which was a weak-but-still-profitable year that was a noticeable drop from the very-strong year before- DC's recovered from their nu52 induced problems, Rebirth helped them a lot (last year it was really Marvel who had the larger issues). Every publisher is not haemorrhaging money, and people have been saying they have since forever.

They may have survived (along with Menasor). But for graphic simplicity or lack of EoC, we are not seeing them. Doesn't matter a lot since Titans are rising.

I feel like this may have needed one more issue, but hearing that #6 is bigger satisfies my feeling.

Also since not many people adored the Hasbroverse, kinda bringing them in last second to help fight feels okay. They’re not dwelling on them too much, but they’re here to help. And we need all the bodies we can throw at Thanos - err, Unicron.
