I\'ll admit I\'ve not read any of the IDW outside of MTMTE but I remember back when thundercracker was just killing people. It\'s nice to see humanity is cool with zainy war criminals.

Humanity in Transformers comics always seems to have a severe mental deficiency.

Earlier in the life of the books: The EDC allied themselves with the Decepticons against the Autobots.

And Skywarp eventually got recruited to GI Joe.

And this is all AFTER All Hail Megatron, where the Decepticons invaded earth, destroyed cities and killed millions.

And then there's the entirety of the old Marvel comics run.

Isn't it great that on the penultimate issue of your big universe-ending comic, you have a character front and center on the cover whom... most casual readers would scratch their heads about going "Who the scrap is that???" I mean unless you read the crossovers with some ancient Marvel comic property nobody apart from Linkara's watchers knew about, you wouldn\'t know who Starlight Glimmer... erm, Stardrive or whatshername is. Does not really entice the average non-TF nerd comic reader to pick it up.
Even during the (much later than 1986) Unicron story of Marvel G1, you had people around whom everyone knew - Optimus Prime, Scorponok, Galvatron, Grimlock... Now we have what seems to be a bunch of C-listers and "OC do not steal" characters only created for the comics.
It's just disappointing, that's all, considering how well the IDW Universe started. For a while, it even sidelined the Marvel G1 universe as my favourite G1 universe ever... but well, nothing good lasts forever.

EDIT: Also, great to see they managed to "honor" the Beast Wars anniversary by throwing every BW character not yet used as random nobodies to fight for Shockwave for some reason. And the idiot himself, who sabotaged the plans of his whole species to defeat Unicron, because he had his own stupid plan to defeat Unicron, now goes "Ooops, that does not compute". That was 12 million years well spent, Shocky.

Thundercracker saved humanity from a nuke and had reformed since 2010
Bumblebee is on the cover. Stardrive is not only the protagonist of a recent and popular miniseries, but she's also displaying powers that show her as alien and effectively conveys that she's an "other" which is her role in the story.

Regarding the Maximals, hopefully we'll see in the Reboot better use of them in some way. I mean...this is just odd seeing Megatron listening to Shocky and not formulating his own plan to take over 'Yesss'. Secondly, I'm calling it right now. Either it's going to be Skywarp or Thundercracker that bites it in this issue, with possibly various Joes along for the ride and Soundwave, given the solo cover of him in space. I'm pretty sure that Starscream will end up either being one of the lone surviving Decepticons, or he'll die, possibly, protecting the others showing that yeah there was some leadership still in him and that he's not just a one note character.

Speaking of, Barbar sure loves making him out to be a schemer even though he's been shown to not be this blatenly dumb even in the original show.

Linkara's watchers? How about "People who still read comic books legally for a long time." Just because we in this forum don't know who they are doesn't mean others don't know either. There are people out there who do know these guys and bothered to read about them and are probably excited that their existence is acknowledged. And yeah you kind of glossed over Bumblebee being front and center on the cover so people are going to know him right away. Plus Stardrive by this point has a solid foundation in the IDW after ROM vs. Transformers, arguably the best franchise crossover event next to Revolutionaries so someone is bound to know her too so new readers aren't left out. Plus Rom's pretty damn popular himself. And you assuming all the c-listers are taking the show when only last issue Windblade has done anything of value (Plus all the Windblade comics that solidify her part of the prime TF roster) then Prime steps in to hold everything together like a PRIME would. The Maximals after Till All Are One barring Rattrap and Rhinox would never really the focus, it just happened that there was more to Onyx Prime than meets the eye.

Except Thundercracker was known by the humans to have saved NY from nuclear devastation and was given royalties after years of recovery and his ties to Skywatch. As far as the US is concerned, he a 'prime' asset to them.

i dunno. Marvel had it's fair share of "Who the heck is that" covers for big storylines:

    Straxus:

    Neo-Knights:

Honorable mentions go to Circuit Breaker, the Mechanic, kids and a teddy bear in the Cosmic Carnival storyline, the Mechannibals and the leader of Femax - a 30 foot tall armored bikini lady with pattern baldness.

Then there's 'ol Jhiaxus, who was on like every 4th cover of G2:
    [IMG][IMG][IMG]

Don' get me wrong - there's plenty to complain about with IDW. This just isn't one of 'em. Comics do this stuff, Transformers comics are no exception.

I\'ve read all the different HASBROVERSE comics and frankly most of them aren\'t  that bad
    G.I. JOE 7/10
For the most part G.I. JOE was surprisingly enjoyable the Mike Costa run was defeinlty the best part of their storyline in fact it wasn\'t until vol. 3 that I could see the quality starting to decline which lead to it\'s premature cancelation in 2014 in the Fall of G.I. JOE storyline (ironic) before its reapperence in Revolution (Being a transformers fan at heart I must say Skywarp was defeinlty the best part of the newer and unfortunately cancelled G.I. JOE series). The best part of these stories were probably the COBRA stories I loved the tales of espionage and the pressures of being undercover with one of my now favourite G.I. JOE villains Tomax Paoli.

    ROM 9/10
This one took some time for me to get used to it had some pretty intense horror themes in it which kinda reminded me of the episode Thirst off Transformers Prime. However that being said despite the fact that it\'s story is considerably shorter than Transformers there is still some strong character development between ROM his human allies and his fellow soldiers Livia(love interest) and Orphion, and there\'s a lot of that morally grey concept in the stories which makes it all the more compelling. Also I don\'t know why but every mini crossover with ROM in it is always good ROM vsTransformers and ROM & THE MICRONAUTS. Plus it was pretty fun looking out for the occasional transformer Easter egg or reference too.

    MICRONAUTS 8/10
Now this one was good MICRONAUTS is practically the guardians of the galaxy of the HASBROVERSE it\'s enjoyable, fun, and entertaining. While it may not be the most complex of tales it\'s still pretty good. I always enjoyed the stories that dug deeper into the MICRONAUTS culture and history. The only issue I have with this series is that it\'s a bit to short and I feel like their were a few missed opportunities for slightly more interesting stories or you\'d have story elements that weren\'t properly exported until the last minute or simply not as much as I was expecting. Overall though pretty good plus that Baron Karza villain is definitely one the best villains in the HASBROVERSE that isn\'t a transformer.

M.A.S.K. 2/10 Just don\'t read, don\'t even ask me about ever again the only time these characters are even worth mentioning are in the crossover stories.

Action Man 6/10 short and sweet, could have used more of it. At least we got revolutionaries.

Visionaries 3/10 Would you believe me if I\'ve said I\'ve read worse? I probably wouldn\'t either, this felt like such a missed opportunity I was actually really pumped for this one especially after the last VS crossover, but it fell short of just about every expectation I had for it sigh can\'t win every time I suppose.

    If Thundercracker dies, we riot.

Also, is that Krake standing among the Cobra forces? I know that name means nothing to those who only read Transformers, but over in G.I. Joe, he’s a long abandoned plot thread that I thought was going to remain unresolved. Glad to see we’re getting some kind of acknowledgement of him before it all ends. Good old John Barber.

Not when you know the narrative of how beastformers have been treated in the IDW universe. All those characters follow shockwave because he was their prime and shockwave has always believed in equality for transformers that have been regarded as lesser beings. It’s fitting that these characters in this universe would follow him because he’s been fighting for them all thier lives.

Wow this really does feel like the end. I'm really happy to see all the other hasbro characters, despite the varying results I'm thankfull for the Hasbroverse.

Agree 100%. To me the Visionaries were also a HUGE letdown, they had so much potential. I really pray that the reboot does them the justice they deserve.

Real glad that someone else recognized Krake! I was shocked to seehim and the original Cobra Commander, really didn't expect that, but I'm not complaining.

    There actually one o.o?

You know Shockwave sure is proving that Ego and logic aren\'t mutually exclusive.  Little irritated he\'s got such a major role in things though as an alternative big bad for this story, kind of takes away from Unicron.

He’s fully admitted he’s no longer driven by logic. The shadowplay was reversed, he has his emotions again and said he found something more powerful than logic: chaos

To be fair, shockwave is really the big bad of the series. He started it all and it’s been all part of his grand plan to take over the galaxy. Unicron has just been a tool for him.

I was thinking a lot about that and wondering “Is it right shockwave is the big bad AGAIN so soon?” but this is the end and IDW-verse exists solely becuase of him. Everything is literally his fault and maybe it is appropriate that the IDW-verse ends with him as the mastermind
