No, it's based more on the TYPICAL idea of Shifters (IE the bots that can change their shape to look like other bots, like Makeshift and Psuedo.) Your Shifters are goddamn Ghouls from Tokyo. Biiiiig difference.

 

To be fair to the kid, you’ve had a history with “involved” references to anime from day one. I mean, this comic is a big love letter to BNHA, after all. So I don’t think harping on the Tokyo Ghoul fixation is fair.

The theft claim is a fairer subject of dispute, so I’ll give you that one.
