    Granted.
But realtors are just a few levels above writers, producers, actors, directors and publishers in the moral ranking of humanity.
So who cares what they think?

    I guess that's my unpopular opinion :D

    DUDE, thank you!
I'm steamy as hell after Maketoys cock teased that Galaxy Manus/Galaxy Convoy art and then apparently have since chucked it out the window...
Hell, I'm no Armada fan, but I would take a 3P-sterpiece Hot Shot, even one of him from Superlink or Galaxy Force as well.

Like it's the same at Bandai between Hobby and Collectors, always re-hashing the same Gundams over and over,
but it sucks that Takara and the 3P's are just kicking the ball around on the same field.
As you said, I don't see why no one takes the initiative to tap this big market here...
I mean, I kind of know why though, since there's some weird cultural powerplays between China and Japan at work here,
and they want to feel they're 1-up'ing each other on these Masterpieces, but they just need to get over it... sigh.

I mean, non-G1 stuff sells plenty fine. Its just there's so little of it.

The Optimal Optimus sold hecka well, and there's enough TM2 Megatrons out there its a legit war

Ooh I feel like I'm walking into a 3P confessional. Well, here goes:

Faux parts look like cheap Party City costume accessories people would buy to look like a character and Sunbow art is not good enough for MP designs to devolve into complex Popples.

    Protect me, Robo Jesus!

I'm only in this hobby for G1 inspired figures, since that's the only era of Transformers that I experienced as a kid and have any nostalgic attachment to. Even so, I can confirm other segments of Tranformers figures sell very well, including (Bay) Movie-related products and some aspects of Beast Wars and RiD. If all you hang out in is the 3P section (like me) that happens to be focused primarily on G1, you might not realize that there's a larger segment of the fanbase and figure-collecting community that are in it for other generations of TFs. 3P can definitely tap those markets a bit more than they have. But I'd still like to complete the G1 MP series first. ;)

I just thought of a third unpopular opinion I have, especially since the Diaclone reboot...

I prefer Diaclone to Transformers, concept-wise. Sentient robots don't appeal to me. Pilots do.

I've had a furniture delivery guy and professional movers geek out over my collection. Why are you so concerned about your personal reputation that you care what a realtor you'll probably never see again after seeing your house thinks about you?

Yup...I've gotta say that I'm pissed as well...but on the bright side my wallet is fuller because of it...

Then again, the Op and Megs haven't been officially canceled yet, so there's still hope for them at some point.

I’d like to learn more about where this information comes from. Is it extrapolation, or do we have actual numbers?

All 3P figures should be available in the MakeToys “evil” colour scheme of Black, Red, and Teal.

Ha, I have to go through this with a refinance appraisal soon. This is a good point, as long as I get them all on the shelves!

I don't have actual numbers, but there are several companies working on them.

Sometimes the best combiner toy is just one or two from a set and not the whole thing. Nothing wrong with not completing a set.

I hate IF legends figures. Crappy designs, chunky proportions, and they just feel cheap.

    - I'm getting to really appreciate smaller combiners, not only like Quantron or Maketoys Giant, but even IF Bruticus. I get disappointed when a combiner can't hold up its arms or weapons.

    - DX9/Unique Toys has some vastly underappreciated toys, though recent releases may not be as good. I can't believe something of the quality of UT Allen and even UT Sworder got reduced to 50%.

    - If I'm paying $150-200 for a single toy, it better be nearly flawless and do something super impressive. That really pushes the limit on what I want to spend on a single toy.

    - TransformMission Menasor is a great combiner - sure, it partsforms like crazy, but everything has a place to go, is fairly solid when combined (as long as you tuck the ankle flaps to keep the legs in the right position) and the alt-modes are great on their own.

    - Extras make the third party experience worth while. Free stuff like the kit assembled mini toys with Generations/TFM sets, IF's little Arcee, the little forearm fillers that came with MMC Tigris all add up to let us know the companies appreciate our business.

    - Some of my favorite toys these days are improved KOs of decent undersized toys. ToyWorld Throttlebots were good enough, but Wei Jiang's OS KO versions are improved and good enough to stand on their own.

    - If you're going to start on a combiner set, it sucks when the last figure released is the torso. A good combiner succeeds or fails usually because of the torso design. I can't fully invest into the UT or XTB Menasor sets because I have no idea if MotorMaster is going to be any good.

    - I don't mind repaints as long as the mold is good, or something gets changed enough to become a new character. I already have enough Hot Rod looks, but I like Calidus in the repaint colors enough to buy it.

    - I agree that DX9 Mightron is a great Masterpiece Megatron. I bought it before the new MP came out and I still am happy I went with it.

    - Someone should do 3P Animated and Prime toys. As great as Animated and Prime toylines were, I'd love to see some of the peripheral characters done in 3P scale and quality. Where are those 3P Animated Constructicons anyway?

    - I would love to see more 3P companies develop their own characters and properties. There's plenty of room in this hobby for things like the Unrustable Bastards as long as they're good pieces.

Yes! Guys like Constructor are impressive on a shelf and scale nicely with MP figures, but IF's Bruticus is infinitely more playable. I didn't like the individual Combaticons enough to want to go all in on Legends-scale figures, but I'm in on IF's combiners enough to buy the Ruination repaint.
