Could scrapmetal be ss daytrader?
Hasbro wouldnt make a backdrop for a single figure

In reference to the Junkyard backdrop ? While its possible its unlikely that the character name is anything other than the actual character so Scrapmetal is Scrapmetal and that figure will have 1 of 3 possible backdrops.

Either on the frighter with the other constructicons

Under water during Megatron's revival

Or will share one with hightower and have a

Battle of Egypt backdrop

However with the junkyard backdrop you are right it leaves the door open to daytrader, onslaught or mabey crosshairs.

 

Unlikely but I do hope for SS Daytrader. He may be annoying but that doesn’t deny him the right for a toy.

 

It may be a longshot but what if the junkyard background gets reused for Trench? Maybe he's "Scrapmetal"?

 

I'm saying that I though the line was about having new and/or different figures. Drift being TLK mold ruins that and VW Bumblebee isn't as slimlined as he could be but that's maintaining down to his wheel placement on the doors.

 

I imagine the fact they stated quite oddly this "scales with TLK figures" to mean that an actual newly engineered studio series Drift might come along later.

I eek trying to find out if the arms are remolded into having wrist swivels, I think they do, and that would improve the toy greatly. All movie Drifts kinda sucked due to that particular flaw.

New head, a bigger sword and I think wrist swivels on the arms.
